Hi mate I'm looking to become a relationship manager. Will I get there quicker by entering as a credit analyst or an assistant relationship manager?

Depends on the RM specialisation that you wish to target. Assistant RM is the typical pathway for general commercial, emerging corporate, property or broker specialisations. Credit analyst roles can also offer pathways to these RM specialisations but typically follows a natural progression towards a credit manager with a credit risk - this would be focusing on reviewing RM credit decisions and approving the term sheets prepared within the RM teams, etc.
