This is actually my bank, and the CEO just sent out an apology e-mail about 10 minutes ago (7/11 1:00 PM PT). They completely removed all of the offending language, and the CEO said they won't try to prohibit us from buying firearms or ammo. Now, obviously this happened because we all went and pulled our money out of our accounts. I pulled over $122k out and left $5.00 in there so the account didn't actually close. It's a lot of panick apologizing, and it's surely not sincere, but now they know who they serve.

If Federal Law prohibiting in banks, why not illegal in all states????? 1st no such federal law. 18 US Code Section 930 only regulates firearms on /in federal facilities and 18 US Code Section 922 prohibits near schools/in school zones. Banks are still usually private property and businesses. Most states do not regulate "private property/businesses" which include banks. Most states only regulate state controlled facilities/parks/schools and safety/security related such as can you carry into a bar. There are some banks that prohibit firearms on the premises. However in our state that ban is not enforceable in itself. They would still have to ask you to leave, and if you don't you could be trespassed. I find the USCCA Reciprocity Map as a good source of state laws.

They should lose their federal license and protection for violating the civil rights of Americans

Agreed. I don't consider it a win that they change their terms and services. I would consider it a win if everyone who disagree with them PERMANETLY closes all of their accounts with them. If we forgive them when they change their terms and services, then that will just encourage them to try again. If we permanently leave them when they do things like this, that might make others think more about the consequences before they do it.

Boycott any bank that tries to dictate your spending. Restricting you in any manor is violating your civil rights. I would instantly pull my accounts. Next I would file suite.

Easy solution: Everyone associated with that bank should withdraw their money.

Just because you don't think it's worth it to take legal action against a company for violating your rights doesn't mean that you wouldn't be able to if you chose to. But at the same time, it's a lot easier to find another less retarded credit union or make another free account than spend years of your life and untold legal fees fighting it out.

I had a car note with them. I will never use them again due to this. Even though they changed the terms of service.

I have a few secondary accounts with ICCU and these new terms popped up just 2-3 days ago when logging into online-banking. I declined and had planned to go down to the local branch to close my account and let them know what I think of their idea of telling me what I should do with my money. Just a day later new terms were shown with most of these restrictions gone. I don't care what it is they want to regulate, I can buy what I want as long as it's legal. A bank that doesn't agree with that is not going to get my business.

My former credit union had signs on their doors stating, NO WEAPONS ALLOWED, being a security officer, I told them that this was an advertisement to criminals that your unarmed, and ready to be robbed. They ignored me, saying I didn't know anything, I pulled my account. Shorty after I moved to another state, they were robbed at gun point, and their signs no longer adore their building. My friend, that is friends with one of the tellers, said, the managers were very sorry they hadn't paid attention to the warnings they got. She apparently reminded them that they were warned by a security expert, and have only themselves, and their ignorance to blame. The place shut down a few months later.

That is a common security posture for credit unions. A no Firearms Alowed sign and an armed guard, but location also adds to risk. They may have been part of the reason to close that branch.

I live in Idaho. ICCU is the fucking worst. I have a car loan through them and can’t wait until rates go down so I can refinance with another institution and be done with them. They fucking suck.

I hate that this is where we are. Still withdraw from that credit union. Shut it down. Send a clear message to these fools. Infringement will be penalized.

This sucks. I've been banking with them for over 15 years. THankfully there are plenty of other choices available

What's hilarious is that the bank is in a red state, 90 percent of people who bank at iccu including me, buy ammo online on a daily basis. When people leave, they will close down

This is a prime example of how “We The People” can immediately impact change. We need to change the “but what can I do about it” mindset, or things will just continue to decline…

Looks like it’s time to pull your money out of that bank and give your business to a bank that supports your rights.

When i got my ffl and got a buisness account i was told some banks wouldn't allow accounts for that stuff. Its crazy to think about

Almost all those things that they listed were absolutely absurd! You mentioned the child support, but also the other stuff that stood out was “fines” (you can’t pay a ticket or something similar when they offer debit transactions?), “gambling debts” (you can’t pay a company that helps get rid of gambling debts?), “controlled substances” (you can’t pay for a prescription if you’re prescribed to the *wrong* medication?) “sexually oriented materials” (you and your wife can’t buy some fun bedroom stuff, contraceptives, lingerie?). Why the hell do these financial institutions think it’s somehow their responsibility to monitor my own legal activities?!!

I just withdraw the $ and buy the firarms. The bank will never know what I use it for.

As soon as a bank tries to tell me what I can buy, or where I spend my money, that’s when I totally close my account.

Don't put your money back in either. The fact they even tried is a sign they'll try again.

I almost used this credit union for my house glad I didn’t.

Navy federal credit union has the same policy. Page 17, paragraph 5D also prohibits members from using their money to buy ammo, gun parts, firearms, firearm accessories, tobacco, taxes, and court orders.

So... The "Controlled substances" Would be my wife's medication. And Currencies mean if you travel overseas you can not use your card to get local money. That means this place is not allowing you to travel and they are willing to let people DIE. That is on top of the bad choice dealing with guns and ammo.

Californians moving to Idaho...this bank is trying to draw in those kinds of customers. The state should come down very, very hard on it.

Californians love their firearms and there are probably more than there are people. That may change as the normals abandon the state leaving only coastal kidaults.

The corrupt powers that be have been undermining it every since. They knew played the long game and knew how to get us. They studied us to the point they know us all better than we know ourselves. We have been the enemy the whole time. They knew this and have effectively planned for it. People are clueless.

I'm stuck in Canuckistan here - one of the most regulated and taxed country in the world. I moved to a credit union after our "federal institutions" outright seized customers accounts and crypto wallets when they protested government overreach. The fact they changed the policy immediately based on customer response is the difference between a credit union and one of the big crony banking cartels that prop up the federal institution.

Since when does a bank of that authority? Everyone needs to withdraw all their money from that bank.

Kudos to members who voted with their feet. Go woke go broke.

No one voted, it was a small group of white women age 50s and 60s. The are divorced or married but not married if you know what i mean. Women cant make decisions that go past a week. Just give them a phone and the Starbucks and a new car…. Dont let them control the money…. They cant count….

The biggest story should be you should see how much debt all these Banks got out here and a lot of them will be going under real soon

Oh absolutely This isn't about 2a It's about all rights and the bank has none to restrict what anyone purchases Regardless what it is

At the moment of deposit, the funds become the property of the depository bank. Thus, as a depositor, you are in essence a creditor of the bank. Once the bank accepts your deposit, it agrees to refund the same amount, or any part thereof, on demand. FDIC has 99 years to pay you back too.
