My tip: Beware the Airport Rail Link.. If you have no bags it is OK. But often the train is so full when traveling towards the airport that it is virtually impossible if you have suitcases. Even if you start at the first station - the platform can be so full that it is impossible to navigate with a bag. My tip is, if you are traveling with bags, get a large taxi. The regular taxis, often have LPG tanks in the trunk (boot) so there is no room for bags.

Superrich made the good reputation about the best rate of currency exchange. There are 3 colors of same business family but the orange one is original. I used them for 3 decades.

DO NOT BUY YOUR THAI SIM AT THE AIRPORT!! 7/11 are everywhere and the staff are great and will do it all for you while you wait!👍

7:42 I got 34.43 baht at the basement SuperRich (June 2023), and then I took the ARL to Phaya Thai station and it was 34.56 there.

Yes, Vasu next to the Nana BTS station. Regarding the sim cards, I think they are by the same providers.

I have used the lower level exchange places several times and agree they are the best at the airport. Question: are the SIM card prices any better in the lower level as well. I usually buy one right next to baggage claim and didn’t think there are better deals outside. Advice?

I already have my pre booked taxi and will meet them at level 3. Are there sim card shops on this level? Or would it be better until I am in hua Hin and visit a 7/11 or TrueMove store?

Thanks for the useful information. I was wandering what time the money exchanges and the SIM card vendors open? We are arriving at 5:40 AM on a Monday. Hoping to catch the train as there will be 5 of us.

They are suposed to open at 05:30

SUPERRICH (green ) and SuperRich (orange) are well known currency exchange and they have branches all over town and in the malls. Don't forget to bring your passport with you because they need to verify you identity.

What time in the evening are the exchange bureaus open to please ?

Sawadee krap!! For the best currency exchange rates it's Super Rich near Pratunam (not Asok BTS!) stop to Ratchaprarop with Airport link and go direction to Big C pratunam. It's 200 meter before Big C. It's the place for the best exchange of Thailand: all the day it's full of peaple, for change money you need to wait 15 or 20 minutes!!!

Hi there. Thanks for this, very helpful. I’m a bit confused though. In your video, you use the ‘buy’ rate for your conversion. Isn’t it the ‘sell’ rate we should be using, when exchanging our currency to Thai Baht?

Taxi from BKK: in addition to the 50 Baht surcharge, passengers need to pay the expressway tolls, eg if going to Sukhumvit area it’s 2 tolls ( 45 and 25=70). I prefer the train: changing onto the BTS ( doesn’t work for very late, eg midnight arrivals of course)…

The train is easy if you don't have to much luggage. Imagine arriving at Terminal 21 with big luggage trying to get to your hotel at the end of Sukhumvit 13. (Just example)

Normally the exchange rates for 100 USD bills is a bit better then 50 USD bills.

The last one closes at midnight. If you land at 11:30 it might be to late. I would just exchange a little bit amd do the rest in town.

Get a Tourist Sim card. It is cheaper.

Several banks in the USA refund the arm fees. I pave been given good rates from Aeon, there are not many locations. It would have been nice to show the actual bills and coins

hello at 7:40 am there is a thailand visite card. This is a reloadable debit card provided by Superich with a 30 TBH withdrawal fee at the ATM However, I don't know how to recharge it (cash or credit card).

You didn’t say how much difference between big note and 20 dollar

The reason the rates get better in that floor; is it is outside of the airport....they have comparable rates to one you would find elsewhere in Bangkok. To their credit I had little choice when I went, arrived just before midnight from narita...from Houston iah so not much was open.

Bkk or *Suvarnabhumi* is not only biggest airport in Bangkok but the whole of Thailand 😊 for a cheaper taxi ride, go up to arrival taxi drop off and get a cab from there, you'll save quite a bit 👌as they won't be any sur charges added to the rate 🫣

You can only use their SIM cards if you own your own phone correct? Not still paying off???
