The good thing about your video is that you showed us a lot of the roads and surrounding views. Most road trip vloggers I have seen focus unnecessarily a lot on themselves, what they are eating, what they are doing etc.

I use to drive on this road at least 2 - 3 times once in year from Blore to Perdur/Siddapur. Earlier i had travelled via hassan but never like the road condition. Between tumkur to tariker its bit boaring but tarikere to my native its nice but should be care ful. Most of the time i driven my car during night hours which is not much recommend in the forest area either in the curvey roads. So far i had travelled on this below mentioned roads to reach udupi 1. Bangalore- Mysore - Madikeri - dharmasala- Karkala - Perdur 2. Bangalore - Hassan - Sakkeshpur - Dharmastala - Karkala - Perdur 3. Bangalore - Hadsan - Belur - charmadi - Ujire- karkala - Perdur 4. Bangalore - Arkalagud - Bisle- Subramanya - Dharmastala - Karkala - Perdur 5.Bangalore - Hassan - Chikmaglur - Sringeri- Agumbe - Perdur 6. Bangalore- Tumkur- Arsikere-Tarikere- Bhadra- thirthalli -Hulikal ghat- Siddapura 7. Bangalore Tumkur - Hiriyur- Hosdurga - Tarikere - Bhadra - Thirthalli Agumbe Perdur 8. Bangalore Shimoga thirthalli Hulikal Siddapura Almost i have covered major routes to udupi. Some time even i have taken right turn to Arsikere from Hassan highway. Once the Tumkur to shivmogga highway is ready then this would be the best route to reach udupi in my point of view.

We didn’t take Hasan route actually.. we took Tumkur - sira- hiriyur- bhadra- Udupi.. in this route also it was a mix of good and bad roads.. In Hasan route I heard charmadi ghat is good and scenic..

was there any hills on the road while reaching Udupi

Hi Bharath, there are western ghats in both Hassan and Hiriyur route. In Hassan route you will have to cross Charmady ghat and in Hiriyur route it's Agumbe ghat..

@@bharathpr there are hairpin bends but roads were wide enough to drive.. ensure you drive during day time and preferably avoid if there are rains.. That should be fine..

what's the total travel time including breaks for food and tea/cofee

We took the below route.. Tumkur - sira- hiriyur- bhadra- Udupi It’s a safe route, only issue is after Hiriyur till Bhadra dam road is a mix of good and patchy broken road.. still drivable.. Better take Hassan route via charmadi ghat.. It’s more scenic and good road.. start early from bangalore so that you can easily cross off Ghat sections by noon DO NOT take shiradi ghat roads are not that great in that route..
