Chicago food is better than NY and LA put together. You can find 5 star restaurants here, food of all cultures, and some of the best fried chicken joints in the country. Portillo's alone would make people rethink what city has the best food

@@gamertron0993 I mean, I think Chicago already is? Only SF and NY have more Michelin star restaurants. Chicago leads the list in number of Michelin bib gourmand restaurants. Maybe that's not known to the average person, but people who are really really into following fine dining and food in the US know not to sneeze at chicago.

Live down the street from this place and can confirm pie is absolutely incredible. Even before the pandemic on any given day there was a line for tables if you wanted to sit. It's that good. Would love to see another feature on the savory menu - their biscuits & (vegetarian!) gravy, grits and whatever form of potato dish they have going that week are always amazing!! Ty for showcasing this local business!

@@curlymaine8908 They have a very good balance of flavor. The pie crusts usually have some sort of savory element. Key lime has lots of acidity as well as the salt with the caramel chocolate. Biscuits on their own are savory that's why they can mix them with breakfast toppings (gravy & egg, bacon & avo etc) or sweet (butter & housemade jam).

I wouldn’t describe Chicago as a progressive city until very recently. It was more machine politics and classic midwestern dems. It’s still one of the most segregated cities in America.

Progressive makes me not want to support the business. I'm glad to support any business that doesn't inject politics into the business but if you're including it with your business then I'm judging you on your politics

I wish we had pies like that in Australia, because we follow the British most of our pies are meat based, and the sweet ones are usually very boring, and typically called "tarts"

well i've always wanted to have a treacle tart. i would love that homely, treacly, sweet, lemony taste :) have you had one and was my description of it correct? the only pie i remember eating is a store-bought lemon meringue pie is it was actually quite good and refreshing but i've always wanted to make my own

Cynthia here it’s ok. It’s part of the boring “pies” I was talking about earlier. Australians do not tend to bake their own stuff anyway. Supermarket bought tends to be our culture. Don’t come here for the food lol.

I live in Australia and one of our favorites is lemon meringue pie. It is a lot like key lime pie but instead of lime, lemons R used and it has a soft meringue top.......I hope they make that one coz it's easy.
