    You might want to check out the Power Twist or Nu-T-Link belts from Fenner Drives; it might help you solve the belt problems. These link V-belts are replacements (they advertise it as a permanent replacement) that are adjustable in length so you don't have to deal with belts being too long or too short. And if your belt is too long just take out a few links, and if it's too short just add some in. Most people in woodworking have praised it as long as they use it properly, and I see no reason why they wouldn't work here either.

    ‘It’s a great machine!” you say. Watching the review, can’t disagree. What is really frustrating in this the 21st century, manufacturers and dealers alike only want the money, they do not volunteer or provide service to the buyer. The machine was still in warranty, there was a problem and they charged for a fault modification. One month ago I bought a mini excavator that came with three buckets. At the same time I ordered other items and was told they were in stock. When the excavator was delivered one bucket was missing and a grease nipple and bush was also missing. One ram rod was rusty and a flat battery…plus more. I was told, the missing bush for the accessory ordered was an optional extra and I had to buy it separately. I was not told that at point of sale. The dealer didn’t have one in stock and I had to have one made. They delivered the wrong ram from a completely different manufacturer and far too large…….I could go on and on. For the smart asses itching to press keys to say I should have sent the digger back……when you have work for it….you press on. The bush was low cost in real terms but the principal is the key. If the dealer continues to refuse to reimburse me, it will go through legal process, my main occupation for the last thirty years. Everywhere it seems, no one will accept responsibility and point the blame to others. Running a business used to be great fun….that my friends no longer applies.

    I was wondering if the belt issues that is being fixed with the idler redesign may be caused by the tooth spacing. the 90 degree rotation between tooth strikes on the stump will cause a serious hammering effect and constant shock load on the drive belts. Where a grinder with more teeth would be a more even load.

  • @mustangrebuilder

    @mustangrebuilder

Waiting for the new belt to arrive. They are also sending a new tensioning system as well since it’s fully tensioned to the max but the belt had slack before ripping again.
