Hey Guys & Gals,

    Yoshimura isn't a Suzuki brand, they are an aftermarket exhaust brand. They worked with Suzuki in bike races being a sponsor. If it was a factory install it is likely they are partners and able to offer factory installs of yoshimura exhausts and still offer a Suzuki warranty

    Original 1250S run in US as '07-'09, bike reappears as '11-'12 in Batman costume as the GSX-1250F, one last appearance in S form for 2016 with updated fairing design. The original 1200 was an air/oil cooled 1157 derived from the GSX-R1100 with the 1250 (new to US body & motor with FI & liquid cooling to fit Euro 3 emissions regs) in '07. This has a hydraulic clutch, so if the effort seems that high, it may help to adjust the lever. My hand used to cramp on it when I had it too far out. The saddle from the 650 also fits the 1250. Rear shock is adjustable for preload and rebound. Since you're 6'2", I wonder if it would help balance the suspension to put the front back at stock height - your pre-load should really be set for your weight (measuring sag, etc.). Using preload to set height to match lowered front may mean you have the rear tow low (not enough travel) for your weight.

  • @jaredcompton158

    @jaredcompton158

    3 жыл бұрын

    Awesome info, and thanks for watching! I agree on the suspension and lowered settings needing to be changed, but it's my father's bike, so he has it all set to his weight and height. The hydro clutch is very nice. I think heavier traffic just makes me nervous, and I do everything more tensely than I should. When I drive a box, I bite my nails without knowing, so when I ride a motorcycle I must be clutching harder than needed.

    I had a 2008 as well. Same colour. It had a full fairing. Would of kept it but girlfriends ex did $4700 vandalism. I ran it to Sturgis 2 years in a row, 09 and 2010. 1585 km in one day, so basically 1000 miles. Just bought a brand new 2014 GSX 1250 SA. 500 miles on it this week. They are amazing bikes, never a issue. Mine has the full hard luggage as well. Go to sturgis, pitch your tent and even if it rains your gears all dry. Good and accurate review

    I bought mine in 2008 & have done 3 vacations on it that averaged 11 days & 3,000 miles & even though I've had six bikes registered & on the road simultaneously including a 2001 GL1800 Gold Wing & a 2007 Triumph Rocket III Classic 2300cc, the Bandit has been the best compromise between long miles & excellent handling on routes like; Blueridge Parkway, Rt. 129 "Tail of the Dragon" & other premier routes. My other ride is the Triumph Bonneville Bobber 1200cc high torque parallel twin for my hot, sticky weather "hooligan" bike. At 72 I'm missing the other unique rides that I let go, but am satisfied with the two 1200's in the garage.

My current bike's a '88 Suzuki GSX1100F (Katana) and even at 115,000 km the thing's still a beast even in stock form. @Jared Compton the only cons I can think of that’s worth mentioning is that it vibrates hard past the midrange and that stock it’s sort of a dog. I’d definitely remove all emissions items to really open her up. As far as pros, it’s your generic “easy to work on, reliable, comfortable. The B12 doesn’t really stand out in any category but it’s a damn good bike :)

    Another thing to add is check every bolt that you can see on the engine and the carb and put some blue locktite on em. I’ve had a floss bowl drain screw work its way out while riding. I was close to home but was leaving a trail of gas and my rear tire was like it was bathed in grease. Also make sure that it wasn’t sitting for too long. Not sure what your mechanical experience is but pulling 4cyl carbs apart isn’t fun :(

    @@jaredcompton158 Thank you for the reply.FJR is a real rocket,cost about 50% more but the biggest disadvantage is the weight,about 40 kg (90 lb ?)more then GSF.If you consider GSF an sport tourer then it is the most nimble one.When you hit the level of 300kg (600-700 lb) IMO the most accidents happen in the garage or in the parking lot and when you getting older it doesn't help much.. I will say the little 650 has never let me down off the line but becomes timid at highway speeds. If performance is your thing, I'd say the bandit over even the 1000 strom. But I can sit in the comfort of the strom saddle from morning to night --something I can't say about the bandit. hope that helps.

    Thanks so much for watching, and great question. DL650 is comfortable and tame. If you would like easy riding for a daily commute or long trips, the VStrom takes the cake. Unfortunately, comfort isn't exciting. When I'm on my Strom, I often wish for that 4 cylinder feel and sound to spice up the ride. The Bandit has no shortage of that spice and speed. It is thrilling and fun, but without a good aftermarket seat, don't plan on riding all day. As for commutes on the 1250.....traffic makes for a ton more clutching than a lower powered 650. Wears out the left hand a bit more.

    If you are not confident on a clutch, I would steer you away from this as a first bike. On commutes and heavy traffic, I have to reign it in the whole way. It is a heavy bike, which makes it smooth on the road, but it is also slightly top-heavy, which means if you get off balance stopped or a t slow speeds it wants to fall. I haven't dropped it yet, but it is my most difficult bike to push in and out of my crowded garage.
