    Thats amazing that they even came up with that idea. I cant even begin to imagine the thought process of coming up with all those pieces- to turn out such a spot on figure. Very cool concept. Great video as well-

    Steven McCann I'm right there with you. When you look at all the pieces still in the tree you think "How is that going to make an awesome figure?" But then magically, it does in the end. I love everything about these, from the build to the final figure. Just awesome all around. Thanks for watching!

    +MultiResound With my first one, I thought the same. That they would be dumbed down somehow and never replace my beloved traditional action figures. Nope, every model that has come since has taken it's spot on the shelf and knocked it's solid plastic counterpart to the extras box. These things are awesome.

    This is basically a built your own figuarts stormtrooper by the looks. The joints are very similar to a figuarts. I would recommend this to the figuarts when it comes out tbh.

    I watched this because I was looking for some stormtrooper figurine other than the Hasbro, and I have to say I'm very glad to have seen it. I directlt ordered two of them, and after a few hours of build (around 4-5), i'm soooooo happy with them. I have to say these are pretty much the most movie accurate, the most nice looking and the most "stable" figurine I've seen. I can only recommend buying them, if you are looking for stormtrooper figurines

    Been watching these model videos for a while now and I think I know which ones I want, but then I find excuses to buy more. First I just wanted Kylo Ren, but then I decided I need at least one Stormtrooper to accompany him. I always liked the Empire Troopers more the First Order ones though, so I gotta get one of those. Now I need Darth Vader if I'm building a Empire Trooper. I still need a First Order Trooper for Kylo though... I may or may not end up with an army of Stormtroopers by the end of the month...

    Excellent job putting the figure together. No way in hell I could do that. lol The Bandai trooper definitely trumps the Hasbro figure. Better proportions, heftier armor and the helmet is perfect. The Bandai figure is much more movie accurate. I watched the original trilogy again fairly recently and those stormtrooper helmets sit on the actors' heads like big ol' buckets. Bandai is really topping Hasbro's Black Series with these figure kits.

    Thanx for the review! The model kit weight is much more lighter compared to the Black series, right? Oh yeah- when you showed the shoulder armour 'hinging' out (20:39), does that mean the arms 'can' go further up-out to the side (earlier you showed that it can't (18:35))?

  • @TheFwoosh

    @TheFwoosh

    9 жыл бұрын

    ArTwo DeeTwo Yes, much lighter than the Black Series figure, since the model is hollow. But still better, haha! The shoulder pad does swing up but when you swing the arm up it still pinches up under the helmet, essentially closing the gap that is opened by hinging the pad.

  • @TheFwoosh

    I put all of the Black Series, models, and Figuarts into the shelves together, but some side-by-sides don't work. The models works great with Black Series but Figuarts is slightly smaller. You gotta kind of separate them, especially troopers. The Figuarts troopers are noticeable smaller than the models. And then model Boba Fett is bigger than the Figuarts Jedi, so can't put those close. But with some spacing and Black Series between they all work overall.

    You're correct, no glue is needed. I've used in tiny places on a couple of kits, like 3PO's neck bolts, but that's only because I was worried about popping them when I was switching faces.

    R2-D2 and either R5-D4 or BB-8 are great ones! I have R2 and R5-D4 (his nickname is Red) but I don't remember how many stickers they have. I don't think it's a lot but you can always look, and if not them then R2 and BB-8. BB-8 hardly has any decals so I'm sure you'll be fine. But I could be wrong, I haven't ordered the R2 and BB-8 kit yet.

    Can someone help me? What is he talking about at 2:00 ? Something about the sticker sheets in which one is "standard stickers" and the other is water-slight or water-slide decals? I'm not even sure I'm hearing him correctly. What are water-slight decals, and how do they differ from the "standard stickers"?

  • @TheFwoosh

    @TheFwoosh

    8 жыл бұрын

    +departed402 Waterslide decals have to be dipped in water or a solution before being applied. You slide them onto the model, fudge them into position, and then wait for them to dry. With standard decals you can usually see a border or edge around the outside, with waterslide decals not so much.

    So I was thinking about getting two of these to set behind my SH figuarts Vader on my display shelf. I was wondering how they are scaled to that Vader figure because it goes without saying I can't have troopers larger than the man in black. I have been weighing my options for a nice trooper figure for a while, and I also love the model kits. However I was put off on getting the trooper models because I got the Scout Trooper & speeder, and he is huge compared to my figuarts figures. So I was wondering if that would be the case here. Still for 40 bucks I can get two of these bad boys, and have that iconic Vader with trooper set up, and that is hard to beat for the price if the scale is right.

  • @TheFwoosh

    @TheFwoosh

    6 жыл бұрын

    The problem is that Vader is too short to fit in with other companies (even the models) 1/12 scale offerings. For some reason Bandai likes to make armored SHF characters short and all the same size. They are releasing a new, bigger Vader here in the next few months that kind of seems like an apology for the first being small. If I were you and was keeping that original Vader, I'd grab a couple of the SHF Stormtroopers. This model would be way too big.

    I just really love that Vader. It would be hard to give him up, and replace him. He is small but I extend the legs and it makes him pretty tall, his build is still small however. He towers over all my other figuarts so I have no complaints with that. I just wish there was a cheaper option for the troopers. These guys are going for like 70-80 even 90 to 100 bucks on Ebay/ Amazon. Oh well tax season is coming up. Thanks for your review man. Always a pleasure.

  • @TheFwoosh

    @TheFwoosh

    Stickers just peel off the sheet and then stick on the model. Waterslides have to be cut out, placed in water for a bit, and then slid onto the model. It's more of a process that can be frustrating at times but the finished look is better than a sticker. No raised edges, looks more like paint. I still search for tutorials here on KZread when I go to do them.

    Hey. Mate, just so you know. Waterslide decals are easier than stickers. Plus you don't get that Horrid ridge around sticker. You You don't need anything fancy, like sol/set etc. just water. If your going for a pro look some decal soft, which you apply before decal is dry. All you need is water, cocktail stick, cotton bud(que tip). You have a steady hand, as we've seen you put stickers on. Don't be scared give it a go. Also, for best results when painting a base(speeder bike) undercoat, then add a base colour(allow to dry), add a dark wash(very thin watered down darker colour) to show low areas. Let it dry. Then dry brush a lighter coat just to bring out the highlights. I hated watching you distroying your paint bushes. I really like you videos for beginners, you have a great manner, and way of speaking to your audience. But some of your tecnic's are a tad uninformed. Goodluck with future videos. Looking forward to sandtrooper and Boba Fett.

And yeah, my drybrush technique is rough and tumble, but those brushes are way past their lifespan and have looked like hell for years. I'm so out of practice it's embarrassing. Need to work on that.

    Hey mate. Look sticker are a pain in the butt. Cut your decal out using a sharp hobby knife. Dip it in warm water, wait 30-40 sec. Gently use cocktail stick to see if decal has loosed from backing paper. When it stars to move, with a bust dampen the are of the model your about to decal. Then gentle move the decal onto you model. Gentle move it into place. Allow to dry. Just take your time. It's easy, honest. You don't need supplies, unless you've done this a lot and are going for a pro finish. Just remember, if you paint a model, clear varnish. Allow to dry. Add decals. Allow to dry. Clear varnish over decals and allow to dry. This protects the decals when you come to weather your model. Please message me if you have any questions. Also with Bandai kits, if you feel the need to glue, you've done something wrong. I've just finish 50 stormtroopers(built) an I'm just finish, 10 with decals. Take you time, enjoy your build. It's ment to be relaxing. Stickers are stressful. Just so you know. I'm not a pro. I've painted, build models most my life from air fix, to painting war hammer 40K. But you lean something new with every kit you build. Between you and me, you putting on stickers is far more scary then decals. Oh. When you cut your part away from the tree, leave just enough for clean up. Don't trim too close to model as you did with C3P0. I would recommend some, small sanding sticks...like the ones women use on their nails. Just be gentle. You have a great presenter style, just your knowledge is just in need of a retune. here to help, plus I have friends who do this for KZread, and would be happy to answer/help with any of your question. At the end of the day, your promoting a great hobby.

Thanks man, everyone does size comparisons with all the troopers but no one has done one with the human characters and the model kit troopers.

    Michael MacGregor Gotcha, I'll try to do that soon because now I'm looking up at the shelves wondering if they scale myself, haha. And thanks!

    Just finished building mine, and the arm articulation is same. Extremely happy with that. s32.postimg.org/fsqejy5ut/Empire_Elite_Stormtrooper.jpg

    The Fwoosh Actually, I was just watching that video. I have watched it before, but figured I would watch again to confirm if I want it or not. I like coming to your channel for Bandai reviews. I pretty much have watched all them by now. Lol.

    Insomniac Vapers Haha, thanks, I appreciate that. If I remember right the Sandtrooper kit didn't impress me much when I did the video but since I've grown to like it a lot more. Especially the neck being longer than the Stormtrooper.
