Banda Sea, Seram Sea and Raja Ampat - Scuba Diving Underwater Highlights - 4k HDR

Some of my favourite shots from a recent scuba diving trip in October 2022 to the Banda Sea / Seram Sea and Raja Ampat.
We travelled onboard the Akomo Isseki liveaboard, departing from Ambon sailing and diving the Banda Sea, Seram Sea and the Misool Area of Raja Ampat, eventually disembarking in Waisai. Over the ten days we were onboard we covered some 630 nautical miles, and dived some amazing dive sites with abundant marine life and incredible coral gardens. The weather was good, with mostly good underwater visibility too.
This footage is filmed using a Sony A7Siii digital camera in Nauticam housing and Nauticam WACP-1 wide angle conversion port. Camera settings were 4K, 60FPS S&Q 30P, ISO 1600, HDR HLG2, using custom white balance via Keldan Grey card. Everything is shot hand held, using only the in camera IBIS and buoyancy control for stabilisation - no stabilisation has been used in post production.

Thanks for the comment Val 😊 I try to let the sea come to me, rather than chase it, which somehow seems to always work in my favour 😎. Lovely spending time with you and Larissa. Take good care of yourselves 👍🏼👌🏼

Great video. I did the Akomo Isekki in 2020 at Raja Ampat and it was an amazing adventure. Have been considering the Banda crossing with them. Can't wait to go back.

Thanks Ken! Was an enjoyable trip - the Corals and fish life around Raja Ampat, Banda sea etc were absolutely incredible. I'll be going back for sure... If I were to do the crossings again, I may use another slightly faster boat, as it seemed we were always on the move. An epic trip nonetheless.

Thoughts on x1 keldan light vs x2 cheaper lights?

I like the keldan lights, robust, easy to use underwater, lots of power… But with only one light you’ll inevitably create shadows, so two is always better than one!

Akomo Isseki liveaboard : how did you like them? Did you happy with the boat , guide and food? I want to book with them but I can't find any proper reviews to make decision. Your few words would be greatly appreciated. by the way Happy New Year .

Akomo Isseki liveaboard is a nice boat. The crew are very friendly and will always go the extra mile to make sure the guests are happy. The food was good, and the diving organisation was good too. It’s quite a “boaty” boat, and by that I mean the sleeping quarters are small, there isn’t a drinks fridge onboard, and there’s no air conditioning - which is definitely a challenge on hot and humid evenings! I probably wouldn’t sail on that boat again, but that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy my experience with them… Hope that helps.
