Akane wins the Happiest Drummer Award every year!

As part of the Band Maid community, I will do my usual part to point out to reactors, about the official Freedom video. If watch the video again and you will notice on the left hand side of the stage during Akane's Solo you will notice Miku and Kanami cheering, hooting and hollering, clapping their hands and pumping their fists for Akane doing an awesome solo. How many other bands do you see show appreciation for their fellow members during a show. Only Band Maid doing their unique Band Maid Things.

That performance is a masterclass on how a live show should be done!

This song is from Band-Maid's Line Cube Shibuya Concert held on Feb 14th, 2020, just weeks before the world went a little crazy. It was a happy chance (for Band-Maid and the fans) that they had this dvd in the can as live shows came to a halt in Japan and pretty much everywhere else.

The best thing about Band-Maid that I have discovered personally, is that their live videos sounds just like that in person for the most part. There may be a few touches and corrections, but 98% of what you hear in a live video is how it sounded in the venue. The biggest issue I know of was when Kanami missed a bend during the live stream and when they released the OLV it was tweaked, but everything else sounded EXACTLY like the original stream. And Akane smiles like that ALL THE TIME. She looks like she is just having the bestest mostest fun of her entire life during their shows. What really surprises me is when she does poly rhythm patterns on her kit. Where what her feet are doing are completely different from what her hands are doing, plus sometimes her feet and hands and left and right are all doing something different. MIND BLOWN when I saw it in person.

There are definitely a few instances where something is little off but they release the live MV/DVD without "making it perfect" in post. There's also a song from one of the COVID livestreams where Saiki just wasn't having a good day and muffed a high note; they fixed that for the MV, probably because everything else was too good to not put out, and to avoid a rare clunker note jarring listeners out of the experience.

Freedom is one of those songs where the lead guitarist and the bassist aren't stuck next to their pedal boards so they move around more often than not. Hence it's almost always in their setlist. :)

And now for your next song choice. You can stay at the same show and do 'Play!' LIVE, or go back in time to 'Real Existence' LIVE, or forward to 'Hate' LIVE. But don't neglect the Music Videos. There are a few that you must see. 'Blooming', 'Rinne', 'Unleash' and 'Shambles'. The LIVE versions are no better, and each has something special that sets it apart.

@@bobespirit2112 Thanks. The Warning performance was so powerful that it looked to me that the Maids were fired up to start their turn as a hostess band. It was 150% energetic throughout their performance.

Akane's nickname is " The Gorilla" because Miku gave her the name over love of bananas. Akane also has a huge appetite which they all make fun in their videos. A funny story is a reporter asked the members got during a musical hyatus. Miku, Kanami and Misa said they got new guitars. Saiki got a new mike. Akane said she got more muscles.

I love the part where Kaname is watching Miku as she sings that part with a smaile and you can tell Miku is getting thrown by it. It started when Miku messed it up in practice before this performance. Great band interaction! Great reaction Red!!! I guess you got a new sub now and glad to be here!

One part of this video I always like to point out - When Kanami (Lead Guitar) crouches down next to Miku (Rhythm Guitar/Backup Vocals) when Miku has a little solo singing part, this is because on a previous show Miku accidentally flubbed the lyrics a bit in this part. Kanami is crouching there to tease her a little bit - but also to block off the lyric notes from Miku's sight! This band always has great fun with each other, and if you look out for it, are always cheering on each other, playing small pranks on each other, and teasing each other during the live shows. It's wonderful!

I gave this a listen because I'm a big Warning fan and a growing Red Neighbor fan. I've loved listening to you and have not disagreed with you on any of your reactions but I suppose it was inevitable. Friends sometimes disagree that's just the way of life. While they do bring a lot of energy, it is too much energy, too much noise and not enough music. If I had the narrow it down I would say too much Punk/pop/speed metal and not enough rock for me. Combined with crazy lights goofy costumes and unintelligible lyrics I didn't enjoy this much at all. I don't usually have a problem with foreign language lyrics, if the song is good. I have no problem with the couple of the Warning songs they sing in Spanish. Perhaps my ear is more used to hearing spanish, I don't know. I don't like the silly costumes. Never really liked the Kiss stage show or Angus Youngs school uniform back in the day, but I can put up with some of that if I enjoy the songs. Although the individual musicians are talented, and I appreciated their solos, I do not have a good first impression. But I didn't like Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin when I first heard them so I'll keep listening to see what the buzz is all about, see if they can change my mind. I understand both bands did an original song together last night with all eight of them... I am really looking forward to that. Thanks for sharing I look forward to the next one 😊

Band-Maid's catalogue is very varied, and there have been several instances where people were not sold on Band-Maid until they heard that song that just clicked. It could also be that Band-Maid is just not for you, because their songs are usually high tempo and it seems like you enjoy a more mid tempo groove. The collab song between The Warning and Band-Maid is excellent. They all played on stage, 2 drums, 2 bass, 3 guitars. Definitely an unique experience. As someone who saw it live: it was the best concert he has ever been to in his entire life.

Well, everyone has a right to their opinion and music is subjective. People just gravitate to what they like and there's nothing wrong with that at all. As @madsstavang mentioned, Band-Maid has a deep and diverse portfolio. Maybe give these songs a try. "Manners" OMV or OLV. A mid-tempo bluesy/groovy feel song. If doing the OLV, stop before "Black Hole", if "Freedom" was overloading your senses, "Black Hole" will make you lose your mind. LOL. "Daydreaming" OMV. A rock ballad masterpiece. "Bestie" OMV Another rock ballad, but co-written with Mike Einziger from Incubus, so has a bit of a more "Western style" of feel. "Endless Story" OLV from their 10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. A rock anthem type of song. Turn on the CC to understand what the lead singer is saying as she speaks to the crowd. And after she walks down the runway, the wrote/added an extra verse just for the fans. Why we love our Maids, they love us the fans. "Start Over" OMV. A pop rock song which has a late 80''s to 90's feel. "Page" no video, but you can listen to it from their Official YT page. Go to the releases tab. Select the "Conqueror" album and it's track 1. "At the drop of a hat" no video, from the same album "Conqueror", track #6. "Sayonakidori" OLV Acoustic Version - From their Christmas Present to the Fans Special from 12/25/2021. "Catharsis" OLV Acoustic Version - Also from the 2021 Christmas Present Special. Amazing how they rearranged this song from a ripping rock song to a milder mid-tempo song. "Before Yesterday" OMV A fast tempo song, but not as complex as most of their music, but a earworm chorus for sure.
