In this video, we will be very strict with Elisha (again) when it comes to pronunciation. In reality, she probably deserves a band 9.0 but it's important to make all YOU GUYS (students) understand the importance of the band descriptors. Remember, we have lots of other videos here on our website: www.ielts-daily.com/live-classes

Another nice one! Absolutely liked the way she spoke. It lets bare of her profound knowledge on how to build up a coherent statement for an answer. I'm on my way to do so as well. Every day I devote portions of my efforts to perform a good English while speaking, but I also delve into writing as well. For example, she elaborates on her answers by explaining the point of the question she's asked. That is simply fantastic, not everyone does such a thing, and if you heard carefully, you'll realize how helpful is to be more "profound" in what you respond.

I think she deserves over 8 in pronunciation since we understand her. Do you know that examiners around the world may not be native English speakers and have some pronunciation issues due to their native language like the one who examined me ? He was Indian . I was perplexed because I'm not used to listen to Hindu English speakers , believe me he was pronouncing v as w and vice versa . .

Yes. If you read the comments below, we said that she probably deserves over an 8. In the same way that in the writing test, If you make one spelling mistake, your writing drops from 9.0 to 8.0, we were very strict here.

Hi Chris, I think your Channel is extremely useful to practice speaking part. I took my actual exam in Adelaide today and just wanna share the topic I encountered today - hope it will be useful for the recent exam takers. Part 2 question: describe a puzzle ( crossword, jigsaw, ...) that you recently did. Was it difficult? How long did you spend doing this? How did you feel? And the related part 3 questions, I was asked some questions about human brain, how to exercise it. I was also asked some questions about detective books.

Goo to heart Elisha response , she has good grammatically awareness and well-presented the content . Some Suggestions can be given . She can try to use the passive voice , some inversion in the sentence patterns . It can be more naturally present their viewpoints . In the content part , she can tell more the benefits of studying psychology and how psychological can reflect your life or values after you are saying about the reality and you can be (an) understandable person. --> Sample : I think I can have more benefits after studying this programme , like understanding the reality and become a considerable person , after that , I can think about my career path and future development will be related to the psychology and reflect my self , like why people will violate the law , encounter the crime . It is because __________________________ (Some theory and one interesting examples. )In the career part , I think she has a wonderful performance and she should try to compare the psychology programme between Singapore and Australia and justify why you select this programme , it can be more connected with your master mindset . In the picnics , I think she had a good speaking in the circumstances / she want to have the good quality time or face-to-face to meet with friends after COV19 pandemic . Don't forget to compare with the before , what difference between you have the picnics during in COV19 pandemic ? Do you worry the COV19 health risks ? After you mentioned about the picnics food , you can mention more why you select ? What is your favourite and friends favorite ? Why you not choose your countries food ? In the music part , if you are familiar with the music , I think I can be understandable . You can say more the benefits of listening music , like relieve music ? You like what types of music songs ? If not , you can say more about the drawbacks of listening music , why music is not your favourite . Don't say the story and it may have down grade (grammar mistakes + not well-elaborated). In the music types , you can also say the types of international and some domination , particular culture , like the korean and you can be compare with you want you say , like American . the content would be more fruitful. In the prize for second part of speaking , if you say more the meaningful / reflective of the prizes would be better .

hi, I really like the way you feedback and feedforward and its too much inspiring indeed but this girl's way of presenting herself was not so much lively as it should be. She used a flat tone all through the test that sounds too much monotonous and discouraging as if she didn’t want to sit for it and you compelled her to appear at the test. She was a little bit trackless and Maddie has to be much patient and calm for understanding what she really wanted to convey. See Maddie in different minutes of the test, she was trying her best to be relaxed and listen to it carefully. The sentences were mostly fragmented as we find with the new generation. She should be more composed. I really haven’t sit for the test but I feel that if its done in such a relaxed environment, It's going to be a new but a very good experience for me. Thanks for everything. I luv IELTS Daily

I have a question that needs answering. I have a tendency to stammer and stutter while pronouncing words and when I was a child, I used to stutter quite vigorously but I have improved a lot and only stutter when I am very anxious, excited and nervous. Is there a way to inform the examiner on the problem so that they can be lenient with pronunciation?

Finally , if you want to speak more about " depends on " , I think you can say sth like related to , rely to , concentrate about ... I think you can directly rephrase instead of using this phrases. It will let the examiner think you are thinking sth but you do not tell him / her.

Hi, very nice video, and thank you very much for uploading it. At the end of the video, I noticed that you mention about the fact that 0.25s and 0.75s are rounded down. Is this only for individual papers? As I know for fact that when all 4 components are taken into consideration, the 0.25s and 0.75s are rounded up. For instance, a friend of mine achieved 9 L, 8.5 S, 7 R and 6.5 W, and ended up with a band 8 overall (i.e. the 7.75 was rounded up to 8).
