Banbury Bill

Музыка

This is a traditional Cotswold Morris tune from the village of Bampton in Oxfordshire, although this version is played more as a session tune and not with the A-B sequence required for the actual dance which is ABBB

Hi Rob, thanks very much, yes it’s a tune I hadn’t come across either until the previous week, glad you enjoyed and spent time learning it. I based my version on Will Allen’s version who is a fantastic melodeon player. You should come over to one of our First Tuesday sessions at the Rose & Crown, Feckenham would be good to see you. 👍😀

@@squeezersully7 Ah, I knew about the crem and the burial at Holberrow Green but hadn't been told about the get together in Feckenham afterwards. Is that a definite arrangement now?

@@noodlin-mandolin Hi Rob, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I was waiting for final confirmation, so here are the arrangements for Jon's funeral, sorry if you've heard this on the grapevine already : 'Alan Ferguson has sent out details for Jon's funeral arrangements as below. As before, apologies if I'm just repeating what you may already know and please pass on to any others that you feel should be made aware. Wednesday 13th December, 2.00 pm Redditch Crematorium (the Abbey Chapel) B97 6RR Donations to one of Jon's favourite charities: Crisis UK Dress code: "wear what Jon would remember you in". If possible, please wear a hat. Of course, people should wear what they feel they should wear, so a suit and tie won't be frowned on either. As Jon leaves the chapel, there will be live music (tune to be chosen by Alan Smith and details will follow). Anyone that has an acoustic instrument can bring it along. People will remain in their seats to play and nobody should bring an instrument that needs plugging in (that last bit should go without saying, but let's say it anyway). The burial is at 3.00 pm at Westall Park Natural Burial Ground B96 6JY. Parking is limited and space around the grave will be tight. Family and close friends will attend but anyone that feels they want to be there shouldn't feel excluded. All are welcome to go to the wake at The Rose and Crown, High Street, Feckenham B96 6HS. Those that don't go to the burial can head off to the pub and get the drinks in. There will be live music, the beer will flow and so will memories of Jon.'
