Gangotri Seva Samiti, a name established now over a decade on the ghats of
#Varanasi, serving the needies and poor and working for the benefits and enviornment
purification on the banks of Ganga Ghats.
Gangotri Seva Samiti was established by its Founder and President Shri
Kishori Raman Dubey alias Babu Maharaj, with a blend of spiritualism and awareness
towards cleaning of the river Ganges. Born and brought up in Varanasi, Babu Maharaj
Ji is mainly known for his devotion,dedication and determination towards the
cleanliness of Ganges. He started his awareness towards the mass by organizing the
globally famed ‘DEV DEEPAVALI MAHOTSAV’ Ganga Aarti in the year of 1991,
on the banks of river Ganges, at Dasaswamedh Ghat, and later giving it a face of
‘DAILY AARTI’ since 1997 with help of his Pundits, who now perform daily Ganga
Aarti on the same banks, thereby giving it a global name and fame. Organizing daily
distribution of foods under ‘ANNA CHETRA’ is one of the prime look outs of Shri
Babu Maharaj Ji, who feeds the needies and deprived of the ghats. It is said that no
one lives without shelter and food in the city of God Mahadev, Kashi, and Shri Babu
Maharaj is one of the person who set example for keeping the saying true to life. His
Organization also provide shelters the needies and orphans who require his blessings.
Shri Babu Maharaj, simple in living with a shawl clad chest and his simple Dhoti is
always found on the ghats of Dasaswamedh, looking after each of the needies and
thus helping them for their each of the requirements. He keeps an eye of a vulture to
find if any one is on the ghats whose tears can be wiped by his shawl, and if he can be
of any help to the person. Gangotri Seva Samiti is the organization which caters the
needs of such people. Just as Bhagrithi took vow to bring Ganga on earth in the same
way Babu Maharaj commited to spread awareness about Ganga
purification,cleaniness and an environment friendly atmosphere by GANGA AARTI.
As the dusk crawl in, the ghat gets glittered and the atmosphere gets enchanted with
Bhajans and songs that make each of the visitors feel the spiritual blend of Hindu
Religion. Performing daily Ganga Aarti by five Brahmans on the ghats is mainly
meant to deliver the ethics and spirituality to the mass which is set on an open air for
the public to take in the blend of Bhakti towards their River Ganges.
He organize the globally famed Dev Dipavali Mahotsav and Ganga Dushara function
each year on the Dasaswamedh Ghat, on the first full moon day of the month Kartik
of each calendar year in Hindu Mythology. This event draws the international tourism
to the country and fills the Ghats from all the sections of the globe who craves for
viewing the main Maha Ganga Aarti, performed on that day on the Ghat of
Dasaswamedh. By this AARTI,he spreaded our rich tradition and culture across the
glove.
