After Day 1 (2nd Dec) of Kirtan Rasa festival 2023, we were invited to A R Rahman's home in Dubai. Meeting was organized by our dear friend @ambikadevidanceofficial (follow her)
AR Rahman's comments after the kirtan was "Great Honor, Thank you for coming. It just lightened up the whole dull ...(mood) from traveling and tiredness"

@@user-gm2nl5xz1n Interesting! As a non-native English speaker, I always thought drums are to be beaten with drumsticks, since I got myself acquainted with the word "durm" only when I enjoyed Western music involving drums with sticks!

Its actually KHOL. Not mridanga. Because mridanga sounds more damp and male. But khol sounds more sharp and trebbly.

Hare Krishna... every day i take out time to listen to this soulful kirtan... it releases all the stress and gives so much positivity and mesmerizes me. The flute, the violin, the vocals...everything about the set up is so pure and mystical. Hare Krisha...Hare Rama..

A Soulful Kirtan, my request to Rahaman sir, if possible made a mahamantra KIRTAN . which will definitely will be a magnificent one, that will touch every soul in this world n above Oscar level. Try mrudanga from odisha it has different ancient bit, always the best for kirtan. I saw kirtan where mrudanga players leaking blood from cracked fingers but they didn't stop playing it, the energy was out of the world n so divine. Hare Krushna.
After listening this kirtan my mind get so relax and take me close to lord Krishna 🙏🙏

No, he wasn't, he and his father followed no religion. They were struck in poverty after his father's death then he adopted islam
