nice maiden Rich, it didn't look like it needed mix for the flap huh a short rollout. The JP sounded good too. I liked your idea for the brakes to be on the bind button, being it is not used much anymore that the bind is in spektrum software now. i would like to use the airbrakes though, i saw it pitched down. my blue one may arrive this weekend, so look for my unboxing video please. Like i said before, i like your battery bay mod, i wish to use it too. looking forward to your next flight video on this one as many will many as like you said there is so little info out there. I will be sharing my own as soon as i can but got things to prep for mine. Thanks for your details on this jet!

The real reason for using the bind button for wheel brakes is so you don't land with the brakes on! The brakes are only on when you are holding the button down.

I purchased a plane a few months back. The nose was damaged but the box was undamaged. I contacted them and no reply. So they are still open, as for the rest, that's yet to be seen.

Rich, My runway is 300ft long. Do you think that will be adequate for this model?

One thing I like about Opentx is you can put the elevator trim for flaps on a dial , so when you put the flaps down you dont have to land it to make the change. you can dial in down elevator if the plane balloons when putting flaps down

There is no need for this when programing thru the Spectrum Flap System menu. Flaps are best operated with a 3 position switch so the flaps have pre-determined UP, TAKEOFF, & LANDING settings & predetermined "elevator to flap mixing" settings so a knob is not required.

Hey Rich. You know back in the day (say 5 years ago) when Banana Hobby had a terrible customer service reputation, I canceled a $476 order on a Christian Eagle. I gave them 1 more shot last week and I STILL have not received my L39 order and it wasn’t on back order! That SAME day I ALSO ordered TWO Super Scale EDF’s from MOTIONS RC and They’ll be here TODAY! I’m not too happy with these Banana folks and I’m about ready to CANCEL. Talk to your folks before they start loosing business! Thanks!

George, I just posted the JP FAN & ESC install video... My V-GOOD ESC would not boot up, so I used the Fly-Fun ESC I had laying around... I will install the V-GOOD eventually when they are in stock and I get a working one...

Not sure why the pnp and arf kits say 12Ch required ? I was planning on my NX8 which I think I could squeeze in. I noticed you had breaks on the bind button what I assume was a DX9 black ? Great plane !!!

I think the reference to 12ch is based on the turbine version requirement but you do need at minimum of 8ch to allow for everything (Ail/ele/thr/Rud/gear/flap/speedbrakes/wheel brakes), at least one additional channel (9ch)is needed if you want to be able to switch a flight stabilizer on or off and or possibly an additional channel (10ch) for nose wheel steering trim... and for sure they are the best 105mm jets on the market 🙂

For sure ready to fly this 105m so very sure I grew out of the NX8 and beeing a spektrum fan boy that I am nx10 would be sort of lateral move. Too bad ix12 is no longer available and the ix20 is going to kill the budget but love that radio. Ar10100t rx will be super easy to Forward Program too. Did a ar637T for my T28D 1.4m which came out perfect. Again thank you.

You installed your own EDF and ESC, does that mean the PNP versions are Under Powered ?

I dont know. These models are so new.... the Receiver ready version is not in stock yet. I hope to fly one of the CS Fan versions so I can report back:)

I am going to be using at 12 channel powersafe receiver with redundant battery backup. I'm using the castle 160, but a hobbywing will work. Banana will be releasing a v-good esc with the future PNP version. But hopefully they will list it separately. Reports say it helps what's the overall power for the JP setup.

Pete left Banana Hobby a number of years ago I don’t know the reasons just that he no longer works with them as they replaced the entire team of staff :)
