    I really like the 6 AF 105 mm EDF's that I purchased from Banana Hobby. I fly off a 440 for asphalt runway and the planes use about 275 feet. Landing a little less as I use the brakes' Please keep posting your videos and great job of narrating. I prefer the 105's over any other size EDF's for visibility and stability.

    Wow it really looked like it was struggling to take off. A beautiful plane but it kinda cured my need for anything larger than my 8S 90mm freewing planes. I have to admit I did not expect that it was going 122 mph, guess because it was so big. It definitely sounded cool! Good job, I really like that you guys show the bad and the good. I suspect that a lot of reviewers use a heavy hand when it comes to editing! Thanks for taking the time to post this stuff! Keep up the good work!

    To be honest with you bro that thing looks underpowered for the grass. Once it's in the air, it does get on step but definitely needs more power. I would look at either Jeffan 105 or 110 and Wemotec 100mm with the 1080kv motor. The JP fans sound good but are extremely inefficient when compared to Jetfan or Wemotec. Cheers 🍻

  • @RCPlaneReviewer

    @RCPlaneReviewer

    It's actually not under powered really, its a 16lbs bird, ..heavy took off with no flaps. With flaps it jumps off at 300ft. I got another video coming of it with the JP fan and esc timing changed for more rpm make them performas such. I have a Jetfan 110 for it already, just waiting to be installed. There's more going on with this plane when edf. It needs more air to hit the max thrust as it was first made for Turbines. So opening the intakes are a must. It's pushing 16.4 lbs of thrust. The jetfan 110 het 840kv is the sweet spot 21lbs of thrust.

    I just got the answer to my million dollar question😅. I was back and forth getting the l39 or the mb339. Along with if i should get the pro v2 version with the jp fan or get the arf and put in a jetfan. Looks like its mb339 arf and jetfan with 840kv motor. I was looking at cost and its only 80 bucks more then the pro v2.

    Well, the stock fan seemed to push much better. Grass runways always present a challenge. I have the AeroFoam MB-339, just a dream to fly. I am leaning towards these larger jets as they are easier to fly and easier to see. I also have the HSD T-33, its a monster, the 120mm EDF just has enough thrust to get this jet on step. I just received the HSD HME-262, Twin 90mm, this one should really move out, hopefully. I love the L-39, and i have been watching the videos on the AeroFoam model. Seems to do just great on its stock fan, luckily our club has a 600-foot petromat runway, makes it great for takeoffs and landings. Did you feel the JP Fan was more powerful? Does it draw more than the stock fan? And how did it compare in weight? Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for watching!!! The JP fan definitely has to have the timing changed.. mine is set at 13 degrees and it now rotates at half or field with half flaps for take off..it's got plenty of power to get it up and moving. I still plan on swapping out the JP for a fanjet110 hotter set up. The MB-339 105MM with the JP fan is amazing

    @@RCPlaneReviewer I have never flown the T-33 off grass. It’s heavy, I have run it off our runway onto a roughly mown lawn and the retract pushed through the wing…I would not feel comfortable flying it off a grass runway. Your video is informative. When it comes to grass take off it seems the 105mm L-39 is under powered. Our club has a paved runway of no more then 160 feet. Will it be suffient for a takeoff? Beautifull plane but not sure if it is worth the $1000 investment.

    information. the question is, did the manufacturer spec the edf system CORRECTLY.! fo an edf, the most efficient cross-sectional area of the exhaust IS Equal to the effective swept area, of the impeller. this value is also the minimum efficient intake area. the use of a cheater(s) does Not fully compensate for too-little intake area. the somewhat inconsistent (and whiny) sound coming from the edf suggests that one or both of these values is OFF. googletranslate

  • @RCPlaneReviewer

    @RCPlaneReviewer

    Жыл бұрын

    The EDF is balanced, I think it can, would benefit from having more air inlets and sounds kind of starved. Remember this model was originally designed for a turbine and then a edf as an after thought. Edfs need lots of air flow...lots! So I think opening up and getting more air in will substantially help with thrust and over all performance
