There are rumors on the discord of another slicer update coming soon that possibly has the arachne slicing engine
As Angus said, 3D printing has been so accustomed to cheap and mediocre printers for so long that products like these rattle the entire industry. Which is good! We need people to come along and shake things up and show that we don't have to settle for poor performance and poor reliability (and cumbersome tinkering to get even a baseline level of functionality). We CAN and SHOULD be able to print things smoothly, quickly, and easily.

Agreed! Bambu Labs has thrown down the guantlet. I have been 3D printing for 4 years now and printer tech, at least at hobbyist/entry professional level, has been stagnant. It's time for some competitive innovation!

Will be picking this up for my next Printer. I upgrade for Anet A8 to Prusa for reliability, but this printer is next level.
I got this printer, and I'm blown away by how good and reliable this damn thing is. I threw bargain basement PETG in I'd never used before, printed someone a Satsana duct for someone, even freakin m3 nut recesses printed vertically with no supports were absolutely spot on perfect. Default PETG profile but just had to up the bed temp to 70C intstead of 60C, no flow tests, retraction tests, no esteps, no bed leveling, nothing else otherwise. It's an amazing printer.

@@greatestevar You talk like a troll; I don't care.
Quick printing tip: If you want to reduce support material, add a detached simi circle frame or arch, below the support area. The semi circle doesn't need support but the support structures will print ontop of the semi circle or arch. Just ensure your settings overhang angles are correct. The arch provides a space between the base an the area that needs support but uses a ton less material.

We are getting closer to the point where the 3D printer is becoming an appliance. We aren't there yet, but we are getting closer. I picked up the P1p and am completely blown away and at the price point of $699 is truly insane. I'll have more videos up on the P1p so others can see what the other Bambulab printer can do. It's truly amazing!
My first fdm printer and man I am SOOOOO HAPPY I waited for a machine this good
Finally pre ordered mine. Crazy that this will be my first FDM printer
Great video. You covered everything really well, even twice on some things, and I like your delivery & presentation. I'm looking forward to when they get more of these in stock. The Prusa XL is out of stock as well. Trying to be patient.
Higher flow rates call for higher nozzle temps. When I print at 400mm/s on my V-Minion (which is pretty much my default profile), I'll typically print 30C hotter than if I were printing at "conventional" speeds. Those silk filaments loose their luster the hotter you print them. Typically, I'll print at 190C and slow (40mm/s) to get a really shiny finish. What temperature are you using on the Bambu, and how does it compare to the Neptune profile? You might find that it's just not possible to get both speed and luster with silks, as the additives that create the finish break down at fairly low (for printing) temperatures.
I got the kickstarter x1c with ams and it's absolutely amazing. Only reason I'm keeping my raise3d n2 is for the 300mm^3 build volume. If bambu releases a larger printer then the raise3d is gone for sure.
Great to know that hair spray works just as well. So much more convenient than glue sticks!

I've never used anything on this bed to stick. That is with bambu labs pla, cheap gst3d (bankrupt?), and polymaker pla. It feels like cheating.
Might consider this as an upgrade. Just got into 3d printing a few months ago and recently started selling things. Looking to get something better and faster than my Ender3. I was leaning towards AnkerMake but might get this instead.
Ive been debating between this and the QIDI X-CF Pro (I print a lot of ABS and venturing into nylon). Reviews like this are extremely helpful.

Same here. Did you end up picking one yet?
Hi did you know you can access your sliced files from the bambu handy app and send it to the printer that way instead of reslicing? It’s in your history
How is the noise level? Is this something you can be in the same room of, while it is printing in quiet mode, and still have a work meeting?
Gotta love FedEx. Glad that it was the beta unit you were returning and not yours from the campaign. And fast is good, but the biggest draw for me is the reliable part. Sure, there are issues but it still appears to be more reliable than a lot of the available options out there and it seems to work near flawlessly with a wide variety of filaments. I can't wait for mine to arrive and yes, I agree that a 300mm³ or larger build volume would be amazing.
Uncle Jessy, what are the outer dimensions of this printer? I'am looking to replace one of my 3D printers and it's in an enclosure, and have found that most bed slinger type printers are too large. Wanting to replace a 3D printer with a 250 x 250 bed but not willing to go smaller, which looks like the only way a bed slinger will fit.
Just waiting on my X1CC... Hopefully soon, my # is getting close... it's spot in the studio is all ready for arrival.
Does anyone know if this printer is compatible with both 110V and 220V mains? I'm sure the psu for the electronics is, but wondering if the mains heater will behave differently in Europe than in the US.
I've had occasional issues with reprinting files. I think it has to do if there is an error sending data from bambu cloud. Agree with the 300mm cube, really wished the machine was larger for the occasional large print. Also, get some sewing machine oil with a long straw tube applicator: my idler bearings have started squeaking and they are a pain to lube because of how enclosed the machine is.
I have pre-order the x1 carbon combo and wow that mask fits perfect
Out of curiosity, where do you find out about any kickstarters for new printers?
Did they ever address the load/unload function? Also, the top layer quality, was that ever fixed theough an update? I am considering selling my makerbot method carbon to get the multicolor machine because i am tired of keeping journals and setting timers for filament swaps to change out the color. Great info, thanks for taking time to share. Much appreciated.
Are you sending and receiving machines to and from overseas?
What does the maintenance for this machine look like?
I would guess that layer issue may be a cooling thing. When it is printing SOOOO fast you may not be able to get enough cooling and will deal with a bit of layer warping causing that ringing you see?
@dylanevans5644
Жыл бұрын
Could be the case - if so this is also an easy software/slicer solve, slowing down the top layers wouldn't add too much time and if it improved the appearance then we'll worth it. I'm a little skeptical tho, as it seemed the top layers were actually a different shape - like where they kg have been concentric circles they actually look more like topography.
@3DMusketeers

@@dylanevans5644 Yeah I have no clue honestly, but I figure the speed is a good place to start when diagnosing on it. Could be resonant vibrations or something really esoteric, but might as well rule out the tough stuff first!

Hey Uncle Jessy, why not put a rotating turn table under the unit? Might help? Love to hear your feedback:)
How would firmware updates work? Via Wi-Fi or external usb/sd?
I wonder if someone can design a tray for the bottom that you just remove to get those bits of fillament out the bottom of the machine
I think the load/unload features are there, but just with the AMS. It looks like they need some tweaks for non-AMS use.
@EmbIazon
Жыл бұрын
That right there makes it a no-buy for me. How a $1k+ printer wouldn't have functionality as simple as swap filament is beyond me. This means you're unable to use the color change feature in PrusaSlicer. All of my prints are 4 or more colors, but I prefer to manually change filament instead of wasting material. I was just about to buy the X1, too. Shame.
I've got a resin cleaning question. I can get any percentage of isopropyl alcohol. What would be the best to clean prints?

U get'em Jess!!
With the AMS unit there is a load and unload functions. There is a single layer top checked I had to uncheck so the top layers are better. My issue is the bed, I went through the three cool plate stickers. The first started bubbling. The other two ripped with PETG even with glue stick over the entire bed. Under the sticker is the same material as the engineering side so been printing on that with less problems. I would like a textured plate though.

Hi! Great video as always. I bought the printer… could you please tell me the name of the purple filament? Thanks!
Speed wise how is it vs say a Super Racer or a V400 from FLSUN? Print size and cost difference is pretty much a wash between the V400 and it so I really wanna know.
Keep us posted if they add the filament load function and the memory function for storing sliced projects in the printer. I will order one once these have been sorted out. Thank you so much for the video showing the good & the bad.

Could you possibly share your slicer settings with us?
What setting can you change to rix the top layer ringing
Gutted that you didn't go with multi colour. What's the noise level like?
Is this machine faster than Flsun v400? Seeing great print with high speed. This printer looks nice tho.
Did you print the PLA with the door open? I heard you have to do that to avoid trapping heat inside
So is the top surface layering issue fixed now?
Hey Jessy what about the first layer quality on this one? The printer seems impressive but no one turns the printed model inspecting the first layer (it's only me?)
im looking for a new printer ive been using a few cr-10 but i need something for home thats fully enclosed as my cats are ninjas, what program does this use? cura i hope as its the one i know the best
If i get this i would get the ams, not for doing multi material prints but to be able to do different prints of different materials without having to change them, using the rest of a spool and continue with another etc.
Didn't one of the major slicers have the ability to change the layer height mid-print to minimize those rings on the last few curved surfaces? Any way to use that on this printer?
@No0o0o0o0o0
Жыл бұрын
Yes there is a setting in the quality portion of the slicer. You can either do adaptive layer heights. you can also set smaller layer heights Oddly when Jesse prints in .28mm layer height its considered "ULTRA DRAFT" in the slicer. it's a low quality faster speed setting.

Can you put these on a rotating base to deal with reaching the rear?

What is the glue pla are you use there?
Where can opioid buy this? The Kickstarter is saying estimated time to get one would be July 2022. Do you know or a way to get this quicker
Is the update video he talked about releasing a month after this one somewhere?
What is the pla gloop? Is there a video on that?
Im glad your beta unit was just a raspberry of the batch, shame they couldn't get to see what the issues were, maybe bad firmware or something. Talking about firmware, now that they are shipping units retail we hopefully will see more concentration on firmware and software side of things as it seems that is where the remaining kinks are. Nothing looks too serious to hinder how good this machine is though and so nice to see a company take a risk on a new design and features. Im both looking forward to my printer coming and also where this printer is going to go. Im happy to purchase proprietary parts as long as they are reasonably cheap and allows to continually fund BambuLab as long as they continue to maintain and develop this and future machines.
Wow, talk about an enthusiastic review! But, I would have liked to see a comparison from other printers on that curved top layers issue to see how much is a slicer vs printer problem, and some more specifics on the "speeds and feeds" that it's using, again for comparisons to other printers, particularly other CoreXY configurations..
Where i can find the Storm Trooper stl? :)

I LOVE my X1-Carbon! SUPER DUPER Fast... I have to build a stronger table for it. It's moves so quickly, that the inertia for the relatively light head creates a lot of vibration from my table. But even then, there was NO ringing etc... Setup was super simple (just remove 3 screws with included long hex wrench that have red tags and cut one zip-tie) and I was up and running right away. Total setup time (including reading the quick start guide... yes, I watched THAT live show) was less than 15 minutes and most of the time was spent waiting for the calibration.🥰🥰😍
