Bamboo grows around the world, and has been used as a natural resource by Eastern cultures for centuries. A hardy plant that grows quickly, bamboo requires little in the way of oversight. Bamboo is also popular in the West as a strong, durable and renewable resource. If you'd like to make your own bamboo mats, all you need is some fresh bamboo, a few tools and a little time.
📌How is bamboo weaving done?
Weaving is done by arranging the bamboo strips in criss-cross manner. During the side wall weaving of a basket, the colored bamboo strips are inserted to enhance the outer look. Bamboo strips are dyed by immersing the bamboo strips in a color solution made by mixing color powder and water.
📌What are the types of bamboo weaving?

📌Where did bamboo weaving originate from?
History. Woven bamboo goods with an age of up to 7000 years unearthed at the Hemudu cultural ruins show that bamboo weaving has been a part of Chinese cultural history since very early periods of development.
📌What is bamboo weaving craft?
Bamboo basket weaving is an age old practice done by the women or sometimes men to make products for daily use. It is a simple process starting with splitting of bamboo into thin strips. The strips are split in two shapes flat and round to make different kinds of basket.

Right now, I'm just using pandanus leaves, cabbage Palm leaves and plastic packaging strips to weave with, but bamboo? That looks really nice!
