    The reason JJ is so good at this is because he rarely interrupts or interjects. He lets his guests explain themselves

    It's way more than that. I consider myself a good listener, there are plenty of people which can do that part, but JJ understands and relates to most of the stuff his guests talk about. That combined with the fact he lets his guests speak and doesn't make assumptions makes them feel understood better than in most environments and they open up.

    Eh, he is leading bam with an answer, would be best to just ask him straight up “what happened after the altercation and how’s the team doing?” Vs “is that something that lingers, or are you guys because of the foundation…” Bam literally repeats JJs last sentence so he’s helping him answer it. No need for the additional leading.

    I think the reason those shows are so great is because there is mutual respect and trust between the people. Also the intention that these shows have: JJ doesnt want drama and get as big as possible. He wants to give the viewers which are interested, a real view behind the scenes.

    Its so refreshing to listen to this podcast and just hear normal basketball discussions without any angle or agenda. It makes it even harder to enjoy shows like First Take where any little detail is sensationalized.

    I love… the love I see in the comment for a content so different from regular media, aka the guy who ask the question just be silent during the answer despite the lack of “television timing”.
