It’s so impressive that you’re able to draw portraits without guidelines! Practice and creating bad art really are the best ways to improve 🙌🏻 the spread looks beautiful to me ❤️
I would LOVE a video about how to make an aesthetically cohesive art spread. 🥰
I loved the spread, and I definitely was sitting here, thinking, "Even her sketches look like beautiful individual pieces of artwork." So I'm (not to sound mean because that's not what I'm trying to do) appreciative of the fact you pointed out where the spread was flawed. I think a lot of us come on KZread, watching these videos and thinking to ourselves--why don't our spreads, sketchbooks, sketches, etc. look like that? I mean, I'm guilty of it. But you bring up so many good points about how your sketchbook spread could have been better, and I think it's important that we look at our own work with a critical eye but also other artwork that we view. Point out the good and the bad as well as explore why we think something works or doesn't work. Loved this! Definitely renewed my desire to draw with ball point pen. It's been a while. :)
If you never tried you would never understand how fun drawing with ballpoint pen is :D
This reminds me of a video you did on how you draw lines delicately with pencil. 💕 I'm so glad to learn how we can make beautiful art with everyday supplies!
This is a great warm-up exercice too! I think I'm going to try a few from now on, thank you!
Very inspiring as always Sara! Thank you! X
Sara is glowing!! I love seeing u so happy and thriving!!
Ok so this is my first vid i watch from your channel and right from the beginning i had found that your voice is so comforting and I love your art style i am excited to watch more from your channel
You are insanely talented!! These sketches are beautiful! 😍
Awesome video. I know this is a year old but if anyone wants to play with their spread on a sketch page don't be afraid of overlapping your drawings. Don't be afraid to start a drawing from "behind" one. Get all up in there, play with cramming up the space.
This was awesome !! I would LOVE to see a video about his to make a cohesive sketchbook spread ! 😊
Loved it! 💖 Thank you for the message 🥰 I always get terrified when it comes to pen and paper and that leads to not sketching at all, unless it’s on my iPad 😑 I really need to work on that and be more forgiving to myself ✨🥰
Thanks for the video! Very helpful.
This is an awesome and very helpful video! Thank you ☺️
You're look today is amazing ❤️ also this help me a lot since I struggle how to draw with a pen and also writing with it sometimes 😅
I just did this with a titanium bolt pen and a black Parker ballpoint refill and it worked brilliantly! The only thing was I had to map it all out first with a light pencil, there’s no way I could just do it off the bat with no guidelines. Pretty good for a first attempt though, I also didn’t know people did full on artistic sketches with them
Wow!!! Loved thissssss! I am drawing a lot with ballpoint pen these days and your video inspires me a lot! Thank you for doing this! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Hugsssssss
Totally would love a video on aesthetically pleasing sketchbook spreads! I try to do it but I think I fail most of the time. I usually don’t erase sketches I don’t like and move on to the next page but I am trying to fill up the paper more. Love this video! And I used your affiliate link to get the pentallic journal! I love their sketchbooks and have been looking for this as well. Hope you’re having a great day
I really love your sketches
Hullo Sara, Wonderful video and superb sketching video! I kinda thought the lighting was moody but in a good mood! Just do what is comfortable for you and easiest too!
Your drawing is so beautiful and awesome it helps me lot I want too try it ❤
Looks like fountain pen 🤩🧐
You're engaged!? CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 👏🏿
i adore sketching with pen so much, i feel like my art has improved insanely from just using pen alone, really appreciate the recommended supplies :3 what pen are you using?
Some of my fondest memories are of just doodling with cheap bic pens.
Dick Blick has the Pentalic Pocket Traveler Journals. I like Pentalic's Nature Sketch Journals, although they are spiral-bound and not everyone's cup of tea. I also lke the Aquabee supper deluxe, it is double-sized so I can go in with wet media and it doesn't warp and buckle. I do a lot of thinking with ballpoint and office felt tip pens. It was great watching how you develop it to a more refined sketch. Thanks!
talking about spreads, can you make a video about creating pretty/cohesive/better sketchbook spreads? that would be very helpful!
Great video 🙌👍
thanks for the video
Greatest❤
I thought I was the only one in the world! When l draw with a pencil or try to l am erasing more and drawing less. Plus I love the feel of it. My goal is going for hyperrealism portraits so I learn how to shade like a champ....#Year3
I actually find it easier to draw with a pen than a pencil, prob because I used a pen so much in life drawing classes
What type of pen are you using by the way want to get back into drawing on paper I’m excited
Bad art is important too! Sometimes in my sketchbook I dedicate a whole page to just the ✨worst✨ art my brain and hands can pump out. It really helps to get over the perfectionist streak, intentionally make a page of just stupid awful cringey sketches 😂
I love using ballpoint pens, but scanning the drawing afterwards is a nightmare because the ink reflects on the scanner's light and it looks very weird.. Does anyone know of a solution?
Have you tried the illo sketchbook?
Ohw... You are So cute 🥺 i love Ma'am
What kind of paper pad are you using?
It's the first video i'm watching from you, and damn i got a crush on you
Hiii, do you use references when you sketch?

Hey, I believe they said near the end that the references are from Pinterest ☺️
As artists we are often times our own worst critic... sometimes we have to remember that other people don't view our art as harshly as we do and to take a step back and occasionally re-evualuate.
OMG You are so cute !!!

And talented too !
Could you please let us see the finished drawings for a second longer before moving on to the next one?
It's great that you've found a 'comfort zone' in faces and a few inanimate objects... now try adding some hands, and general figure poses into your repertoire. So you can achieve the same level of effortless ease. It's the only way to grow... just don't stay too long nestled safely in this 'comfort zone' of 'cute faces' that all look alike.
