I have wanted to make one of these for awhile. Its a fun little project. It took me about 2 hours to make, and I only cut myself twice. Kudos to the person who sees where in the video ;-) It was pretty relaxing to be carving up in the mountains by a river... Rather nice way to spend a few hours.

This sweet little project took me about 2 hours. Pretty relaxing to just sit and carve up in the mountains for a while.

what level is wood on mohs scale of hardness
It really depens on the type of wood. With balsa, and a block the size of mine, itll take about 3 hours. If you use harder wood, youll need days, or weeks even.

That's hypnotizing. Very nice. Thank you
Really appreciate how you only used your knife/knives. Most of these carving videos everyone uses power tools and its just not the same.
Nice! Thanks!
nice river in the background
Wow!! Amazing woodwork ...
I love the videos you do while testing the phones but I like your older stuff too!
Zack that was amazing! this is my favorite video I have ever seen

If you look closely after 4:50 you will notice blood coming out from his left hand thumb.
I love carving wood it's relaxing to me and I watch your vids and kinda copy your work but it's making me a better carver
Hi jerry am watching your old videos 😁😁😁😜😜😜
That's awesome. Keep up the good work.
Hey bud, I realize this is an older video, but if you still get comments, let me know if you have any suggestions on a wooden chain. All these guys use power tools, but I saw chains carved by crewman aboard whale ships. We have some cool little museums on Cape Cod. I'd like to give it a shot without electricity (besides KZread that is).
Good for you santey Rahhal, good for you. You must make your father very proud.
Wonderful video & excellent wood working!
I like how you've not scraped out the entire box in one shot because it shows how you make awesome ball in cube Things. Also your next project should be to carve an American football.
I enjoy how you've actually taken the time to reply to your video comments,

Haven Sha I enjoy getting feedback. ;-)
Fucking hell, is what I thought when I watched this because sometimes I swear, and because this is an impressive project. Anyone who has carved before knows that the ball in the cage is pretty tricky. You have to have the right tools, and of course, lots of patience. I’m guessing that knife is mega sharp. I’ve done this before on a much smaller scale, but it took me a long time. Working in micro scale is fiddly but it’s what I’m used to after working with surface mount devices for so long. Great project.
best ball in cage tutorial ever
This actually dope!!!
Looks like a very relaxing place , reminds me of Arkansas

Do you prefer the look of hand cut parts or CNC router?
Excellent!
Bro, i wanna make one now
That's awesome

Wow amazing💕😍 sir
What type of wood is this? High density balsa? Or bass wood maybe? It looks very soft seeing as how it splinters so easily I was wondering if that was balsa
nice vid !
Im halfway to the teardown playlist. And i saw this one
What type of wood would you recommend replicating this whittling?
This one video has made me tap the like and sub button. Great job. I decided to whittle a spoon once and I had to spend hours trying to find a knotless branch of wood because knots stuff up my carving because they blunt the knife and the knife gets stuck

+Waldon Johnson This project was balsa. Super light weight and easy to carve.
Which material
you know you're seriously the ultimate youtuber can carve make things you how to beat up a phone then fix it and stuff and tbh if I owned a company I would have hired you for testing the durability of prototypes 😂😂😂 but all jokes aside this video is obviously old but entertaining nice job
I am sure you can still buy handbook with all info you need on woodprix. Just google it.
Must be balsawood
What kind of knife
@JerryRigEverything

It was balsa wood, so most of it was done with a razor.
I wanted to pass you my 106 carving knife. You did well with that terrible knife.
My son likes to watch sometimes help I'm kinda scared to let him try on his own bc he's 10 but soon enough hell be doing these projects with me

Don't worry about him. Believe me, he's not too young. I was already taking apart things and sometimes even putting them back together by that age and my father RIP wasn't at all handy or taught me anything. My family finally started appreciating my, ahem, skills when I started digging into our non-functioning TV set, saw some tubes not lighting up (yeah, I'm that old), taking them to the local TV store which had a tube testing machine, and replaced the bad tubes and fixed the TV. I was the 11 year old hero of the hour and no one ever complained about my various scattered piles of parts again! Enjoy your time with him while he's young enough to get infected with the handiness bug. It will last his whole life hopefully and will keep him too busy to be bothered with video games etc.
thats not the point the point is to see if he could do it anybody could do it with power tools but not every one could do it with a few knives and he was not trying to make it perfect just see if he could do it that is all
Woodglut is a solid company with solid woodworking plans.
Balsawood ffs! Would have been more impressive if you carved it out of oak.

LOL, ok, stick with your video games then. They must be a great source of pride and accomplishment to you.
I think what you did took a lot of skill and patience, but no offense, I could have did the exact same thing in under 10 minutes in my dad's machine shop
