Thank you for the info. I have 3 questions. Do they also switch your card in the phone and activate it right away or do you have to do that yourself? Do you have to give them the IMEI number from your phone? how much GB do you recommand for 2 weeks Bali? even if it's a little more expensive we are planning to get it at the Bali airport

Morning, yes, they will install the new card for you and activate it while you are there, I've found it will actually start working when you have left the shop though. And yes, they will use the IMEI No. I don't know if you are able to use an ESIM, but they are the way forward for me now (kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpd51NSynKq6hJM.html), easy to get and pay for before you travel, no hunting down a shop when you get to your destination and they are live pretty much as soon as you land on the tarmac! With regard to price, Telkomsel have a 25g tourist card with 25 minutes voice calls in it, for c£8 at the moment, which is great.

Thanks so much for the info. I do have esim options and it would be my choice too but I was told that you can not use esim for phone calls so its only for Data and also that you don't get an Indonesian phone number which I think we might need in to order to use the grab app. I will check out your video about the esim

I thought the same about the telephone No, especially having my family out there as well. I found that we could use WhatsApp for calls between us and the Grab app worked fine (from memory, you just use your UK No). Not sure if your phone supports 2 SIM cards but if it doesn't, definitely go for an ESIM as you might want to receive Text on your UK No for bank authorisation etc 👍 I was more than happy with a SIM card, I just found having data as soon as I land better and the time wasted before getting a card and then waiting for them to activate it. The price may be slightly better on the card purchase though. Have a great time in Bali, back out there in July

@@amt8506 We used to just do Nusa Dua when the kids were younger, and then get a scooter for me and my wife to see the island on. This year is Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Ubud and Lovina in the north. We want to do Sanur in the future as I've heard good things about it. Big recommendation is to get a scooter if you feel comfortable with riding one. If you do, get an international driving license, they only cost about £5 but if you don't have one, you'll get shaken down by the police for a bribe to let you off.

Hey there, could you give us the address of the official Telkomsel store because i'm a bit confused how I can see the difference between fake and official store's.

It's not so much about fake stores. I bought the cards from a genuine, large electrical store. The trouble was that the staff didn't know what they were doing and didn't know how to register the SIM's in tourist phones. If you want to do it through an official Telkomsel store, just do a search on wifi and go to your nearest one. They were really helpful

@@amt8506 yes, definately get one. I gaurentee you will be stopped by the police and have to give a bribe if you don't have one, it happened to me the first year out there.

Question. It doesn’t sit me right that they have my passport information. I bought one at a street for tourists, who sells jewellery. I saw they had helped more tourists. But what can they do with that information? He did scam me with the price too…
