@@LOWluxury To “scratch my itch” per se, i went ahead and ordered the Gel Kayano 14 White/Burgundy and snagged a DS pair for $160 shipped. I get lots of compliments and they’re mega comfy. But not chunky enough. Need the Balenciagas!!!

I think when you get beneath the t-shirts and hoodies and windbreakers that everyone freaks out about, there's actually much more design expertise than people realize. Demna's strong shoulders, swing silhouettes - so much great stuff there. I think you should give it a chance!

@@LOWluxury The thing is, I tried to give Demna a chance, but the modern designs haven't grown on me over the last few years like Balenciagas work of the early 2000s has. Maybe he's just too far ahead of his time, but I don't see the aesthetic appeal in any of the last few collections. They used to have that "pizzazz" in each outfit that is just totally absent now. Edit: It isn't so much that I don't like the designs individually, but when put together, they seem like an absentminded glob.

@@thad8909 that's kind of like trend chasing which I don't really care about. Of course you can wear them with jeans, that would kind of play up the dad look that Balenciaga was really after a few years ago, and I'm still down with it on occasion.

@@LOWluxury That's a fair point. Many influencers will declare something like "skinny jeans are dead" and then pitch whichever straight leg jeans they have linked that they can get paid off of. But in this case Alex is not tying it to pitch an alternate to jeans, so I'm not sure if it was financially tied to chasing a trend.

The 2.0 doesn’t fit as good or look as good IMO…I have this exact pair I hardly take em off and they still look out the box

I may not have been clear, I think I've said it more in depth in previous videos - that's Balenciagas claim, that's why they say it's best to make them in China because they have the most technical capabilities for complex sports sneakers manufacturing. Very well may be BS, but I have never manufactured sneakers at scale so I really don't know. Of course I'd prefer for them to be made somewhere like Italy.
