I honestly love that the little butler is genuinely trying to compromise with the player. Every time you throw an excuse at him he's just like "you can still do that! Just don't forget to slaughter him like cattle sweet master!"

It’s so cool that not only did they create an origin that lets you be more heinously evil than a normal playthrough, but also opens up another playthrough where you can fight the urge.

I sadly listened to the advice of not playing Dark Urge first, when the reality is that the only NPC you kill is Alfira, and even she can be replaced with a faceless NPC that doesn't change your game at all. The Dark Urge is what Tav should've been from the start, a person with his own messed up story like all the other Origin characters.

@@VDA19IDK I think Tav has it's merits over Dark urge, for one it means you can have a playthrough that isn't constantly "oh god i am trying to not kill everyone" and secondly it makes the game feel more unique when compared to the plot of BG 1 and 2. It is nice to not be so connected to Baal for once.

Tav is a completely faceless protagonist with no story, though. And sure, you got a point about BG1 and 2 but most people didn't play that. Those games are 20 years old.@@kitnal4143

Can you imaging how frustrating multiplayer campaigns would be when all the players are forced to be dark urge to get custom characters and have to roll checks not to murder everything when all you want to do is explore and talk?

​I was about to say he might not have the manual dexterity to have his hands pull off the more complex knots, but then I remember the somatic elements of spell casting and how complicated some of that spell work gets. He's probably pretty good with fine motor control.

I still think Astarion has the best reaction to Durge Tav, mainly because he understands what it is to act without his own mind's control. He's the most sympathetic out of them all, it's very sweet. Gale is just pragmatic, and a bit angry. It's a fair reaction

That's why I always resist the urge. It makes for a beautiful love story with Astarion. Both of you gaining freedom and starting over. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

It's the same with Harleep if you let him use your body(for those who dont know if he shapeshifts into you during smexy time you will feel it), everyone else will chide you for making such a foolish deal, while Astarion will be more sympathetic because again he knows what it's like.

Why is Tav just on the ground lmao--also, the dialoguie is VASTLY different for the Butler here Im shocked. When I was Dark Urge with Astarion he talks about how scared Astarion is of everyone except me, and how he SHOULD be scared of me and i gotta start being evil-er lol.

I ha e seen this with La'Zael, Astarion and now Gale so far. Honestly I like the version with Astarion the best, I like his dialogue.

Wouldn't the whole Coast blow up if you killed Gale?

I kinda wish there were different Dark Urge impacts based off of something like… gameplay difficulty? Idk. I want, for instance, when you first meet Gale, the need to resist the urge with a saving throw or something to not chop off his hand. I don’t like how most of the killings give a choice - outside of this one, which is my favorite, as you have to save to not kill. Amazingly done regardless, I hadn’t even known of this whole Dark Urge, was a massive surprise.

I ended up with that one completely accident. I was trying to romance Astarion, but apparently SH was a bit higher than him since I gave her the idol as a gift. So I ended up with her....

your tav is pretty! were you able to fully romance gale as the dark urge? i want to try the dark urge but not if i can't romance gale.

It's from a mod called Basket Full of Equipment! It's literally just called "Wizard Robe" Lol.

I'm not gonna watch this video, I just wanted to ask how you got this. I have tried 6 times now and I'm not getting it. Got tired of getting it with the other companions so I just brought Gale with me and no one else were at camp (I'm using WeMod to make things easier), but sceleritas just wanted me to kill Isobel. Gale is at exceptional approval and I got all his act 1 scenes. I have tried to do this multiple ways, but I'm just not getting it

If your other companions are showing up and not him, I would recommend lower the other's approval and making sure his is the highest from everyone else's. You can lower their approval by hitting them, Lol. Also, something I noticed is if you slept with another the game will think you want to be in a romance with them, and not Gale. Even if Gale's approval is higher than theirs.

@@minsugagenius818 I've sped ran to this scene about 12 times. Sometimes it activates before Nightsong, sometimes it doesn't. For me, most times I had to free her, then the scene activated after I teleported back at Last Light Inn after freeing her and taking a long rest. I would suggest doing that since I'm unsure what you're encountering, I don't think it's supposed to be like that. So trying freeing Nightsong and it might work?

So I'm confused about this because if you DO kill gale there's no risk of explosion for some reason????

Yep! When you choose dark urge you can customize his/her appearance like normal, unlike the other non-custom origins
