it always feels cruel to coerce astarion into doing this given how much he doesn't want to, and the lengths you have to go to to get him to agree, forcing him to relive his worst memory

I only transform Minthara, she is the only one who actively wants this and then she would end up being cured anyway. Why not earn points with her and still have a character with all the mindflayer powers.

Only dragonborn can pull off the visual changes. As it's not very noticeable on the face, instead looking like light cool-looking warpaint where the body looks like cool scarring. And the bright blue really pulls it all together balancing it out

If you’re not averse to mods, you can easily install a mod to undo the nasty looking aspects. 😬 Though I kinda wish they’d add a little check box to show it or not.

it's kind of immersion breaking. The fact that nobody says anything about the over the top black veins all over your face it kind of weird. Makes me feel better about using mods to reduce it.

Now I want to see Astarion become an Ilithid Vampire (they do exist, it’s in Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft)

I can't do it just because I don't like the visuals. Really wish they would add a toggle for the visual changes or make an option for disguise self that hides it. Same if you decide to go full squiddy. Since one literally uses disguise self to hide its true identity for about 2/3rds of the game. The eyes just look dead to me, and the veins look nasty especially during scenes of nudity.

Couldn’t watch the whole thing. Astarion hurt my heart with that 💔

Why is Tav alright after eating the worms but the companions get weird? Doesn't seem fair 😂

@@DarthAiris right and that's why I personally haven't done it, even prior to knowing that it would physically change my character. This was more of a second playthrough type of activity. At the same time, if you get a scar from battle, some people make the personal choice to at least attempt to cover it up
