Nice tutorial. I wash my hair with bar soap first and then I use a pair of liners to cut the hair, as I call, clipper clean. From there, I use the foil shaver first with and then against the grain. Nice clean shave every time. I can skip the clippers altogether if I run the foil shaver over my head every other day.

Looking good DLump looks smooth. When I used to use the foil trimmers I lubed the blades with the Andis disinfectant and lubrication spray it helps the blades slide against the guard better and cleans those blades.

I got the same shaver for Christmas, because I had a barber do a pretty good job on my head with one before. I've been having the same issues with getting a good shave on the back and the softer hairs on my neck. I found I either have to cut 'em low before I use it or use it every day or every other day. I go with every other day to try and cut down on irritation.

Try one of the cheaper Braun foil shavers, like the series 3 or 5. It has two foils like your andis but it's also got a middle trimmer for longer hairs. If you skip a couple days in between shaves you won't have to pull out trimmers/clippers first. Also, they are waterproof so you can use foam, gel, or lather for a closer shave.

Shoot, that’s good to know regarding Both of these comments. 2-3 days worth of hair growth is too long, and shaving every other day with the foil may cause irritation. They say the gold hypoallergenic foil is supposed to be anti-irritation, but I guess for some folks it’s not. I shave 🪒 my head bald with a razor every couple days or so. I was interested in buying a foil shaver so I can be smooth everyday, but if it’s going to irritate, I’m having second guesses.

I like the video man, I have always shaved my head with a straight razor but lately I am too lazy to sharpen them so I tried a few foil shavers and I love the Babyliss but my first foil shave was done by a barber using the Andis like you are using, I’m about 8 months too late but I actually learned a few things, Have you tried using oils before the shave? I am using fractionated coconut 90% and Tea tree oil 10% before and after the shave, seems like it keeps my blades really sharp I could be wrong but after watching a few videos from different people it seems like Black men have more issues with sensitivity in the back. Let me know how things go, I’ll check out your full channel I watched this because it popped up in my feed. 👍

I'm a black woman & I like my hair bald. Like cut real low. I'm sick of paying my barber and I can do it myself, but I need a good head shaver so I can keep up the mantience on my head. Do you know when I'm supposed to shave it? Is it whenever I need a touch up? Or when it's beginning to grow? What do you recommend?

Hey there! I recommend that you do WHATEVER YOU WANT lol. Personally, I either wanted to be super clean or like a week in. Being super clean was a pain cuz I needed to shave every 1-2 days. Once a week was ideal FOR ME. At that point those tiny hairs were really soft and my t-shirts did not drag like velcro when I put them on. Once a week also kept the irritation down for me. No matter what, you gotta find what works for YOU and run with that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hopefully I was able to help you out.

@@imthro1 In the past I’ve shaved my head for extended periods of time with two separate foil shavers. Give your scalp some time to adjust to being shaven. Enjoyed the Vid, seems the Andis gets close enough for that "shaved look", no doubt... Sorry the back of yo head gets a bit irritated. Have you tried Applying Witch Hazel??? (looks like alcohol), before and after shaving? Anyways, I use BRAUN Series 7 for face, (gentle enough and works very well for sensitive skin, (People of Color), really like it... For the head, I used the Andis T-Outliner, 12-14 years till the cord finally wore out, but it worked great while it lasted... I really think having a DEDICATED Shaver of Choice for both the Head Shave and one For Face Shave, is the BEST way to go... So for me its clearly the Braun 7 for the Face and a good Andis Trimmer GTX or Andis Trimmer T-OUTLINER for the scalp seems to be preferred... Jesus Loves you and He's Very, Very Real! God BLESS!

LumpVision I wet shave my head these days but first I use a hot towel to soften up the hair and then use an old balm use I no longer use as a pre-shave this helps a lot. Then I lather up my brush and shave twice repeating the the same method again using the towel and pre-shave balm. When I’m finished I use the limacol and then a tiny bit of oil or balm (beard) to keep my head moisturized.
