That is the down side of white faced hornets the only stinging insect more aggressive in defense of the nest would be killer bees. but despite their aggression these hornets can do a lot of good as they prey on insects like mosquito's and horse flies. I remember a few years ago we had a massive nest in a tree in our backyard but since it was in a area we never went to we let it be, that year we had no pest problems in our yard or house ;)

@@CDRhammond Ya there crazy i had one chase me all the way around my house be for and it got me on the back just as i got to the door . they have the worst hit out of all bees/wasp/hornets in the usa that i know of or at least by all the diff ones iv been hit by.
@CDRhammond
4 жыл бұрын
@@dewmonle3119 they can defiantly be nasty when they want to. that's why once I see a nest I give it a good 25-50 yard clearance depending on the size of it (bigger they are more space they tend to want) One thing I have seen at least with the ones in my area is they actually will give a warning by either buzzing someone or bumping into them without stinging or biting at first, if that tactic fails then like killer bees they swarm. by far the worst wasp/hornet sting I've been hit by in the US has been the mud dabber wasp that sting hurt for 3 days. Just be glad you don't live in south America think wasps hurt try dealing with a bullet ant they have the worst sting of them all when it comes to pain. It really does feel like being shot with a gun
