Bald face hornet nest treated with Raid. Does Raid wasp and hornet spray work

Ойын-сауық

In this video I do a bald face hornet nest removal using simple raid wasp and hornet spray. See how raid stacks up compared to other products I’ve used. It makes quick work of this wasp nest and eliminates the wasp on contact. Please like and subscribe for more hornet wasp and ground wasp nest removals

Unless you have a bee suit, those products have a warning against standing on a ladder when spraying. I rolled my eyes at that warning and figured if I went up at night I'd be fine. As I sprayed, the sudden onset of loud buzzing instilled such panic in me that I literally forgot I was on a ladder and instinctively jumped backward. Fell 6 feet directly on my tailbone.

I had a softball size nest in an apple tree that I was unaware of until I noticed black and white things buzzing around my head when mowing the grass near the tree. Luckily I didn’t get stung once I figured out what they were. I got the foaming hornet spray and hosed them at night then waited a week to take the nest down. It got them all.

Two summers ago I struck a hidden yellow jacket nest inside one of the shrubs in front of my house. They chased me from the front, across the back and were still stinging me under the water in the pool. They had latched onto my sweatshirt and sweatpants and still were stinging. I had over 40 "bites" and was taken to the hospital (against my will). I was so mad that when nightfall came i went out with two cans of raid and a flashlight. Moved the flashlight about six feet away from me pointing to the nest and i took aim with both cans of raid and emptied them. There wasn't a single one alive the next day.

A valiant attack indeed! Congrats! I ran over an unknown nest with my lawnmower and got stung around my ankle about by about 10 of them. Fortunately I was about 10 feet away from my privacy fence and small gate mowing a neighbors yard and i ran through and shut the gate and smashed the ones around my ankle with my hands and the rest of them didn't get to me. I came back with a can of raid at night and sprayed a very strong and long stream down the hole then stomped on the dirt until the hole was shut. At first the dome collapsed and I saw many of them trying to take off so I quickly sprayed again and kept stomping until it was a muddy solid mass of dirt with no hole left. I never saw another one alive after that.

I did mine at night as well; however, I used two different products: an expanding foam spray and a spray with a straw nozzle. I hit the opening up close with the foam and it pretty much prevented them from coming out. Once I was confident that they weren't escaping through the foam, I used the other spray and poked the straw into the side of the nest and sprayed - did this about a dozen times all over the nest until it was relatively soaked in spray. Went out the next morning and it was dead. Definitely recommend spraying at night.

Hey super glad to see you back. Approx 4 weeks ago I took many of the tactics I learned on your channel and scored a successful strike on a BFH nest directly outside my 2nd story bedroom window. I waited for night to fall to ensure a full nest. Even after spraying with the petroleum based spray they still came out and flew toward the flashlight which I was shining on them through a CLOSED window. They were banging against that window trying to get at me. The next morning dawned and I burned the remaining larvae. GO BROWNS!!

From one KZreadr to another, your gorilla glue video was awesome! That’s definitely your niche! The more unique ways to exterminate them the better! I couldn’t comment on that video because you turned the comments off. I know why you did; because too many people will probably think that’s inhumane. Negative comments feed your algorithm too. I would look at it as poetic Justice; people leave you hateful comments, and KZread promotes your video even more. Lol. So the more negative comments, the better. Just my two cents.

Actually killed my 75 year old neighbor , a farmer . He had to have been stung b4 . Im allergic and they say you never know when your body could acquire an allergic reaction. I almost died twice when in teens have been stung a couple 3 or 4 times since and no reaction ? Then in my neighbirs case . His wife said she had 0 idea he was allergic and had to have been stung b4 as a farmer at 75. But 1 whiteface stung the guy and he was dead on the kitchen floor within 30-40 minutes . Never know man . Hate whiteface .c

I encountered one of these nests last week while trimming a tall shrub. It was about eight feet up. I had no idea it was there. I felt a couple of stings on my back but thought at first it was pine needles that fell under my shirt. Then I noticed some white faced hornets around me. I was on a ladder and the nest was right in front of me. I could see the hornets scrambling out of the nest. I got stung seven times in the back before getting away. I was very lucky. I emptied a can of Raid wasp killer into the hole and then destroyed the nest with high pressure water from a garden hose. I waited a week before finishing the tree trimming. Those things are nasty. I'll check thoroughly for signs of a nest from now on. My back felt like it was on fire for a couple of days. Huge welts.

I came across a BFH nest this size 20 years ago in a crabapple off our patio. It was there all summer long, coexisting with us using the patio for a kid's pool, BBQs etc.Very lucky I guess, and I didn't even realize there was such a thing as a BFH. Ignorance is bliss, and without benefit of a suit, I took care of it myself. I waited til it was dusk, watching for 1/2 hour as they flew to the nest at a surprising speed. Once Grand Central Station slowed down, I used a whole can of foaming spray in the mouth of nest so they'd have to crawl through the foam as they "escaped." I got by without a sting, but maybe a hundred poured out of the nest like falling rocks. The saturated nest was on the ground in the morning, with no sign of life or hornets trying to return. I lucked out I guess, and I probably wouldn't try it again.

you could drop the wasp nest into a plastic bag and then place in the freezer for hour it kills everything in a matter of mins they are all dead. you can take it out a few hours later and take apart the wasp nest piece by piece. it is super fun and easy.
