    Wondering thoughts on bilstein 6112 versus these I know bilstein 6112 are 2.5 but not sure which to choose

    These Eibachs definitely cycle more travel and might be better for somebody who wants the most articulation but wants to keep tires size below a 37, however the Bilsteins handle much better, are much more stable, and will control bigger tires much better.

    Thanks for the video guys! Could you PLEASE test these shocks with the stock Sasquatch wheels and tires??? As long as these shocks have sufficient damping to control the stock Sasquatch package I believe that these would be perfect for my own 2 door 2.3L Bronco! I'm actually thinking that running narrower 35's might be even better all around. I need grip and handling and not flotation.

    The tires and coilovers are long gone, so that test will not happen, but with that said coming down in tire size is not going to help with their tendency towards a lot of body roll, brake dive, squat under throttle as well as some understeer on the limit. If you want grip and handling the Bilstein 6100s/6112s are probably the better call

    Thanks for taking the time to reply. One thing I hated about any Bilstein shocks I've owned is their digressive pistons and tuning. The rear end of my 2 door Bronco is FAR too stiff unless I'm hammering whoops at 50 plus MPH. The Eibach coilovers sound like they would be a perfect fit for me as long as I'm not running heavier tires than they were designed to be able to control. Great channel and content guys!

    Would a adjustable trac bar do the same thing as dropping the trac bar?

  • @ShockSurplus

    @ShockSurplus

    5 ай бұрын

    Not in this case. The issue here is roll center/center of gravity geometry which can only be corrected by moving the pick up points. An adjustable track bar really just helps you center the rear axle, which even with as much lift as we ended up with was not a concern. The stock track bar bushings are pretty soft though, so it is not a terrible idea to upgrade the bar for something with better bushings or heims to reduce some deflection if you like to drive it hard off road.

    What would be softer ride on bronco old man emu (light) or eibach stage 2? What do you recommend?

    Would installing the upgraded front coils that they offer help any? The higher spring rated ones...

  • @ShockSurplus

    @ShockSurplus

    18 күн бұрын

    Yes, you could change out the coils on the front since they're a universal type of coil, standard is a 16" x 450# coil, so you could go up to 500.

    @@ShockSurplus i am in process off putting my lift on. I added 550lb springs to the front. Hopefully they come out with HD Rears soon. Oddly these are the same identical coilover as what I had on my previous 2022 F-150 2.7.

    How is the on road quality/ slow speed off road? I have a 4 door bronco with bilstein 6112 and they are way too stiff. Any recommendations?

    The Eibach are definitely softer than the 6112. Email seanbowman@shocksurplus.com to dive into more details, he's the bronco driver

    Great video, been looking at getting these! Quick question, would you need a track bar drop for 35s or is that only for 37s? Currently running 35s and don’t plan on going any bigger. Thanks!

  • @ShockSurplus

    @ShockSurplus

    It is more about suspension lift than anything. We did not adjust preload, but at the out of the box settings, the track bar angle was just enough to make it shimmy over bumps and have a lot of yaw around corners. The taller tires raising the COG even more probably did not help, and would mean a RC/COG correction from a track bar relocation would be more necessary, but even if you stuck to a 35, those issues would still be present.

    Is there a 2.5 strut that is almost as plush on road but offers more support off road while still offering great articulation? I want a smoother on road experience - and don’t think I’ll go faster than 45 off road…. But might hit the dunes and may need just a bit more than this?!?

    We'd suggest the Dobinsons MRR if its available for your application, or a custom tuned King Shock setup. Contact us support@shocksurplus.com

    hey, do yall have any experience with these on 2nd gen Chevy Colorados? the more i hear about these Eibach coilovers and shocks, the more i tend to think these would be fantastic for me. Just want to hear some input about them for my specific truck

    We really like the Eibachs on the Colorados and Canyons (non ZR2). They ride great, handle decent, and the coilovers offer the most travel of anything sans the extended travel 2.5" body coilovers that require aftermarket UCAs like the Kings

    Yup it is what is actually under the truck in this video. They are Trail Boss spec set at setting 3 for 3.2" of lift (1.2" over stock TB or AT4 height) and B8 UCAs to make it work, with a set of 5100s in the back.

    Can you comment on these Eibachs vs the standard Hitachi on the 2 door OBX? The factory suspension is far too stiff for my liking, for everyday on road comfort. Would the Eibach be the better everyday comfort ride? Not looking for lift at all. Running 33” Badlands wheels and tires.

  • @ShockSurplus

    If you are not looking for a lift the Eibachs probably are not for you. The Bilstein 5100s would be the better choice for someone looking to stay closer to stock height. They can do as little as 1" of lift all around while the Eibachs can only go as low as 1.5" in the front and 2.4" in the rear on a non Sasquatch 2 Door.
