Same goes with reel-to-reel audio tapes, VHS, Betamax and cassette tapes for using baking methods.

I also think that baking removes the moisture from the binder, and the heat makes the binder adhere better to the carrier film

When describing the process to a first time customer I say dehydrating or dehydration, because some people not in the business immediately think that you are putting the tapes in an oven at 350 for 4 hours :)

Those Ampex tapes aren't backcoated. That should make it easier to work with them.
