This gives people a newfound appreciation for how hard the people at bakeries work they have to get up at the ass crack of dawn before even the earliest early bird is awake and prep everything for the day as well as making the bread and monitoring the ovens not to mention cleaning up all the flour that inevitably ends up flying all over the place it’s tough grueling work but in the end it’s worth it because you literally get to taste the fruits of your labor and that’s why so many bakers love their job😊

They don't get up at the crack of dawn. They get up around midnight, before a lot of people even go to bed.

It's amazing because when one thinks of a bread baker, I think it's fair to say there are not too many that may think it's such a physically grueling job. My father was a bread baker and he worked like a dog. I have nothing but respect for individuals in this profession. Goodness, the fragrance of our home in the morning when he returned home from work with the tall and long brown paper bag full of loaves and rolls.

I'm a baker in a small town and this video gives me goosebumps. The thrill of making fresh along with adrenaline of getting it all done quick and perfect. Just looking at the dough and rising, I wouldn't even need to look at the bake, great dough makes great bread. I envy your workplace.

I baked 46 years it really hard work,but at the end of the day you feel good knowing you made somebody happy

I think I first watched this 5 years ago when I was in middle school and starting to cook and today, 6 years after the video was posted, I had my first pastry class in college that this video inspired me to take and I remembered this video because our first baking lab was bread. I love this video so much, thank you.

My grandfather, father, brother, uncles and cousins and me were all bakers. I left the bakery after 10 years to pursue another career. I miss those days terribly. Very demanding work and difficult hours but they were the best of times. I love to see the next generation taking an interest in their craft. Fantastic.

It's seriously been a couple of years since I last watched this video. Now I remember how fascinating it was to watch but these days, now that I'm actually in a bakery, it's even more interesting to see how the process is done, although our space is miniscule compared to this place. We neither have the space or volume, either in sales or equipment capacity, to go as BIG as this, but there is still a ton of amazing things I can learn from this. Thank you Vincent, even if you've moved on to bigger and better ventures, for having put this out there so many years back. It was an inspiration for my own career and still is. Maybe we'll someday get a "Day in a bakery" video from the Flour Pot bakery... (I can hope, no?) Merçi beaucoup.

It was so much fun watching them work, work? As if they’re just playing and having fun. It is true that if you love your job that job wouldn’t be hard, it become easy, a lot easier! On this entire video, I was smiling from the start until the end. Thank you so much! For sure I will be watching this constantly.

As fun as Vincent makes this job look, it's a bloody hard slog!! I've done this for a living for over a decade and it gets crazy sometimes, but i love what i do and there's no greater feeling than seeing the fruits of your labour at the end of a shift! Best job in the world!!

Do bakeries use oil or butter to make breads like toast?

I would love to do this everyday. You can see in his smile it totally loves doing this. I’ve always loved the smell of fresh baked bread. Love the music choice.

Work ethic is great! Great to see someone loves his job. Lots and lots of work, yet he makes it look so easy. Great job!

This is one of my daughter's favorite videos, we've been watching it for years!!

I worked in back at a local bakery for over 3 years just getting into the actual baking of what we put together during the day when the owners retired! It really did give you a work ethic!

To be honest all jobs are good and bakery job also is one of it so dont listen to other people who dont appreciate bakers. bakery job is a hardworking job and also a creativity so if there are no bakers then what snacks will people enjoy and in birthday who will make cake so those who wants to make carrear in bakery those people remember to work and enjoy your life and those who understands will definitely appreciate and also remember to enjoy your life rather than listening to those who criticise bakers MUST APPRECIATE THIS MAN GOOD

Worked in a bakery for thee years,really hard graft,at work for four in the morning,but I loved every moment,nothing like fresh bread from oven,always rather partial to a hot pork pie.

I imagine it was a couple days of work.....usually the bread is mixed and shaped one day, then baked another.

It was probably done during a night shift. Depending on the time they started, they could have been working 8-10hrs maybe more. It is alot of work, especially by hand

As seeing how the sourdough, needs a starter (water and flour) it needs the enzymes eg. yeast to be created which is a few days in this process but he would have had mixed,divided and shaped and proved and baked in his hole shift and there you go

I Love Baking and I Love the smell of the dough right before it goes into the oven and I Love it when in the oven. ( It's baking "Genes" basically my dad - God have mercy on his soul - he was a very good and talented baker too, So ...
