I took a different read on that. Since it was his mate that designed the whole thing, when the music is activated it acted like a time machine that only stopped when it returned just before the moment of destruction. The fact that the alien DJ looks at her designs and sees the next level with the speakers out - I can't tell if this is by design but it makes sense that in this next level as it bounces around zapping things that it could have zapped whatever those things were that were falling towards his home world, we just don't see it. After the final scene where it crashes, it's unclear if they crashed back on earth or the past version of Mat Baker's Homeworld(Bakerworld?) because the background volcano is different in size and appearance than the one from 'Walk that Walk'.

I'm so invested in that clip ! I hope he'll manage to save her eventually !!
