Thank you so much for that video. I hardly ever see the older Baja's in videos. I have loved Baja boats since just a kid. I came across a 1989 Baja 216 DSR a few years ago hidden in a storage yard and bought it immediately. It had only 260 hours on the motor and was only used on Lake Arrowhead by the original owner. I got the boat for $2,100 that covered the storage fee's. OMG! I live on Canyon Lake California and this boat even over 30 years old wipes out all these $100k boats on this lake. I needed to have the interior done because the vinyl was cracking and the wood was rotting on all the seats. I hated the back to back seating and tiny sun pad attached to the doghouse engine cover. They wanted almost $6k to put new vinyl and several more to change the interior layout. So I did it myself and it now has a huge sun pad with a full length engine compartment, full beam bench seat, and captains chairs. I couldn't even find the model 216 DSR for 1989. I think this was the first Islander. Prototype maybe? All the foam in the seats have 216 isl written on it. I wish it had the 454 in it instead of the 350 for that little extra speed. Even at over 30 years old this boat still to me looks very sleek. I will upload a video. I wish there was more older Baja vids of the smaller models.

Running high 60’s? Grew up on an 85 Force 200 with a 350….so much fun

Yep! About 68 on the gps is all I could get out of it! They are an absolute blast!

I know this video was from two years ago, but would you tell me what prop you were running to hit 66? What horsepower 454? Standard is 330 and mag is 365 I think ​@@OverydeMotorsports

@@chadminor2360 it’s a 25p prop, this motor made 470hp. It’s a built 454 aluminum heads and intake custom cam
