Bahco PX-Series Pruner Overview

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Designed for the serious pruner. The PX-Series have a number of unique features which complement their already high build quality.
Out of all the pruners I've used (Felco, ARS, Corona), these Bahcos are my favorite. Great quality, some unique features and a fair price.
The P series (all metal) are simple, durable at a low cost. The PX Series are designed for the serious pruner and have some unique ergonomic features.

It would be awesome if you could do a video on how to take them apart, clean and sharpen them, and then put them back together. Thanks for the nice overview of the the three sizes.

A very good design feature is the way the anvil tip is thin and flattened, enabling access to tight places. I sometimes found there was a tendency to trap the flesh below the index finger in the palm, when exerting a lot of force on a cut.

I am really dissapointed with the PX-M2. The anvil (counter blade) has a 45° chamfer on the corner which stops you doing clean cuts on smaller or softer stems. Also, if you are used to a heavy pruner (Felco 2, or Bahco P110-23-F) you will find the blades struggle with larger stuff. I would try the M3 or L3 (3 is larger blades).

Thanks for the comment. Sounds like you've done a fair bit of pruning. What's your favorite pruner?

Does anybody use these for farming? I owned a Felco 7 and its frustrating when I do heavy pruning. Are they comfortable for rapid pruning say like 500 cuts a day? Felco seems just to heavy for long hours pruning.

Bahcos are geared toward professional pruners who make many cuts a day. A friend of mine who prunes professionally switched from Felco to Bahco because the blades stay sharper longer. I personally like the PX line more than Felcos but as you can see from the comment below, everybody has their own perspective!

I'm thinking to switch to Bahco too. Dont get me wrong I love my Felco since they cut through everything. But they are too heavy and my palm aching after few hundreds cuts. Thinking of getting the PX series. I need something that is light but stays sharp for a long period of time. I hated the springs on Felcos since I need to oil them up regularly and they prone to get stuck.

I agree with you about the spring on the Felco, The Bahcos have a more of a standard spring which sticks less. I'm out of stock on the PX currently, but I'd be glad to know how you like them if you end up trying them.
