Interesting Vlog Mac ... Have travelled to Thai a few times but have only been down in Pattaya once so i am far from an expert...but i have learned to respect the local customs and the people and found if you do you will have heaps of fun and maybe meet some new friends. Great fun place a bit to bloody hot thats all... keep it safe !!

@user-ps2ju5fc6t As an American we actually might lead the way as most obnoxious. I tend to stay away from everyone so I can enjoy my vacation.

Been to Thailand about 20 times, including a few “boys trips”… and used to get wasted on the Bangladeshi Road… but never, ever saw any violence or aggro. Always felt safer in Phuket than in Auckland, New Zealand.

I met you on soi 6 when you were a manager , you were a great manager! nice meeting you !

Great vid Mac, gives some much needed context for why those "No Weapons" signs went up on all the NWG bars and gives some much needed perspective for those that romanticize working as a manager on a Soi6 bar. Is this why NWG bars stopped taking credit cards and only cash now? I was able to pay with my bin with a CC last year.

I managed a busy club in Liverpool my doormen got threatened with pistols and knives on a regular basis, Pattaya was calm for me, but i understand what you have been through is bad. Love your content, you and Trev should interview each other sometime

It’s cause they know they wouldn’t even think of doing the things they do in Thailand they would do at home. People think they’re top shit cause they can pay for a few things there that others can’t.

One night on koh chang we were all in a mates bar and this thai lady walked in with 2 real samurai swords, put them on the bar and ordered a drink. All of us were thinking wtf? Nobody mentioned it and she got her drinks and paid the bill. I still wonder why or what she was doing at 1.00am

i seen a tazer pulled out once. not one of the gun type tasers but the other sort that just have a big spark that makes a noise. farang vs farang argument of some kind, they got scared off and walked away and nothing much happened. you could buy tazers in the markets at the time not sure if still can. and i was at a muay thai fight in koh phangan once, some thai dude was flashing a gun in his waistband seemed to be trying to impress some youngish girls what a gangster he was

I ran in to trouble 2 times in thailand , and guess who caused it ? farangs.... tourists , never had any issue with any THAI person in my life , its the tourists who causes all the issues.... embarrassing at this point for all of us other regular tourists.

try working in south africa .i met this ex marine from uk the size of a hulk .door man security at a club . i said do you own a gun . he said no. i laughed saying you better get one. he said no if it gets heavy i will just run off . hopefully richard jarrett went back to emerdale farm and stayed away from loony south africa. even israel is safer to work in for years .

The thing you need to remember is…

I was in a bar at christmas eve and ten Germans kept on ringing the bell and I had to have one. I said no thankyou!!! several times, but they still sent drinks over. Of course it was common courtesy to drink them and I became very drunk. No wonder we went to war with Germany. 😅
