Well, you have to be quite wealthy to afford good instruments and shit, also recording an album in a studio with such high audio quality must be very expensive (that's maybe why it was recorded in only 10 hours), we don't really know their backgrounds though

I wouldn't say money is mandatory, there are a many amazing musicians out there who started with nothing (I always remember the story of Richard Bona building a guitar by himself, then removing two strings to make it a bass). However, in this case yes, not everyone can afford to spend enough time and money into music to become this proficient by the age of 21, and in the case of Matthew, afford a Prophet and a Nord... It's quite likely that their parents are also musicians.
