Bad Wolves - Remember When (Lyrics):
(Remember when)
When it was 1992
Two little kids stealing records skipping school
We must have been like only ten
Taking life for granted till we learn it had an end
And time is something they say
You never appreciate till you age
And to this day you never knew
I wanted to be just like you
If I only knew then what I know now
Then what I know now
If I only knew then what I know now
Then what I know now
(Remember when)
When it was 2002
You started slinging coke
And had the dopest pair of shoes
(Remember when)
But yo this house just ain't a home
Since our father hit the bottle and our mother hit the road
(Remember when)
And time is something they say
You never understand until it slips away
And looking back I think you knew
I wanted to be just like you
And now I'm tired of the violence
I'm so tired of the sirens
And it's better me, better me than you
Now I'm tired of the violence
I'm so tired of the sirens
And it's better me, better me than you

In 2014 I was sent away to prison for 5 years. My father, who was my best friend in the whole world, visited me every week until I got transferred further away from home. He committed suicide in November of 2017 and they wouldn't let me go to the funeral despite having under a year left from Good Time. The last time I ever saw him was in a prison visiting room. His parents had to bury him and I couldn't be there. First thing I did when I got out was hop on a train and walked to the cemetery to sit at his grave and scream at the world for taking him instead of me. He deserved better and I don't.

I hope I can meet you one day to just give you a hug (and maybe talk about life) for being such a strong and amazing man. You are what do many celebs need to be, you're heart is definitely in the right place.

TOMMY!! great song. Just met u at a restaurant in pioneer square in Seattle (7-2018) (we were both visiting the city at the time) and you were so kind and awesome offering to take photo with me,signing a message to me on my paper, etc. you are an inspiration and I wish you so much success and happiness. Keep being the positive influence you are, encouraging kids to embrace who they are. Looking forward to much more music from you! Sarah, Tampa FL

Lynette Harris amen sister. He was so cool , He didn’t just sign the paper, take the picture and then say bye, he talks to me and my guy friend for a long time, asking us if we had been to the rock museum yet, telling us cool places in Seattle that he had visited on his trip so far and that we should visit too. He was absolutely amazing. I like him so much more now. I have never approached a celebrity in my life, and I’m so glad that was my one experience having done it. We sat down just a few minutes after he sat down at his table, so I calmly waited for him to finish his food, but he had like four different plates of food and I was getting so anxious Ha ha ha. But I managed to wait. What a cool guy

Omg personally, I know I would of have been flipping out inside myself "waiting" for him to finish eating b4 going up to him too!! Thats awesome that you waited also, not sure that would of occurred to other people etc. Tommy does sound awesome for sure and YES I totally see how that makes him just all that much awesomer!!!My daughter and I got to meet the members of Shinedown at a meet n greet, those guys are awesome!! I got to talk with Eric for a minute, their PR person was trying to motion to them "ok next" but they ignored her!! lol \m/

I saw that some peeps are getting confused. The singer had a twin brother who ended up being a drug addict and it faltered their relationship because he wouldn't follow down the same path. Which was sad because the singer looked up to his brother and loved him dearly. The brother broke into their father's home and beat the singer to death. He was resuscitated, thank the lord above, but he did die for that short period of time. Once recovered, he was able to put his own brother in jail for attempted murder. The trauma of that is something that never goes away. The song is his words to the twin that he will probably never see again, or want to face.

From the video, it looks like he met with his brother in prison. Probably wanted some closure and wanted to speak on his feelings that it didn't have to come to this. Whether his brother he is remorseful or not. I don't know what his brother said or if he even said sorry. It's been said that his brother may have been hallucinating off a drug when he beat him up. But I don't know if that's true. Tommy said in an interview that he fractured his skull I think, raptured his spleen. He flatlined and they brought him back. He looked up to his twin brother because he says in the song he wanted to be just like you. Tommy said his brother got on the wrong path. Tommy got sober. His brother had a drug addiction. His brother is serving a 17 year sentence for attempted murder. It said at the end of the video the brothers never saw each other again. When he spoke to him in prison was probably the last time he spoke to him. Would you speak to your sibling, even a twin , if they killed you? Twins have a special bond. So this is much more painful than another family member would have been.
