Hi there I have POA80 code in Toyota Estima and I’ve changed a used battery pack but it is still showing same code after every few days. My cat has done only 140,000 km Mose battery cells showing 14.50v and some 21.60 v. Any suggestions?

How many litres per 100 km did your dash say , my 2014 hybrid could only get 12.2 litres per 100 km ,

I think that's the airbag battery for the curtains. Not sure. That's the case for the toyota sienna so it might be similar. Hope this helps

It was a hybrid battery. I had to replace some cells. 👍😉

My Toyota Estima Hybrid 2007 is displaying code C1641. It does not start when you press the start button, it has to manually started by unplugging then plugging in the battery from the back. How can it be fixed?

Hi my name is Stuart - I too have an estima hybrid 2008 (72000miles). I need to replace the auxiliary battery. Did you you ever get a ‘permanent’ replacement battery? I’m trying to order the same Panasonic S55D23L from Japan at the moment. Also spoke to Yuasa battery technical who said the the auxiliary battery used in the Lexus RX450H is compatible- not sure if it comes with a temperature sensor.

I did replace Auxilary battery but I used any make. Jut to make sure that measurements are the same. I did removed the temperature sensor and just put tape to keep in place. You need that sensor present in order not to have an error code. Hope it helps.

Saulius Agintas thank you so much for your reply and all your videos- very informative and useful. that was my first time commenting on a KZread vid. I contacted both the local Toyota hybrid and Lexus dealers here in Edinburgh - gave them the Toyota part number 28800-28070 and the Panasonic battery code - both were able to get a like for like replacement (with temp sensor and exhaust) the next day- Lexus charged £204- car back up running. Though the left side sliding door is temperamental when closing. Gonna get a generic service and l need a new bulb for front light- your offer video will be very useful in that regard. спасибо

Hi! Never rush to replace the HVB when the OBD scanner read the P0A80 code. I couldn't start my Toyota Camry Hybrid LE with the warning orange triangle in dashboard and P0A80 scanned. The message was replace the HVB. After I checked the voltage of all my 34 cells, six of them with low voltage 7.1 to 7.5. So I Purchased used cheap ones with 8.1 volts. I installed them, charged the others to 8.2. 8.1 (Li) . I kept the HVB home for 2 days to make sure they holding the charge. I replaced the HVB in the car, it started. Thanks God!!! The car was fine but cut off twice in the road why? P0A80 code. I knew there is voltage drop detected by a sensor somewhere caused the shut off. Guess what ? this is a sensor in the cover of the HVB cells detecting the temp. Same the auxiliary battery sensor detecting the voltage drop and throw P0A80. So my case wasn't the 12 V. But the HVB cooling fan wasn't spinning enough to cool off the cells which means no air to be sucked because by dust and dirt in the assembly. Cells overheat, voltage drop, low voltage or zero to the inverter/converter and GM1GM2 can't function. So check the12 V sensor and HVB The cooling fan assembly from dust or dirt. Hope it help!

@@abderrahimnassim7443 Hi and thanks for your reply. My problem was HVB. Its not any sensors or fan. Removed hv battery and check all cells replaced 2 and put all back together. Now all good. Needs to have a good long drive😁

Hi, Do you know where is the hybrid battery fan location? I can't find any pictures about it on the Internet.

Hi. Yes, I know. Before you do anything with HV BATTERY disconnect the 12v battery at the back. What's the problem with the fan? Did it fail? It is between the front seats in the middle. To get to the fan you must remove seats and undo all plastic covers. Then you will see the HV battery metal cover. It is secured with10mm bolts. Once you remove the cover you will see a fan at the front of the battery ( close to the dashboard ). I am not sure if there are 2 fans because I did only removed the top battery section. Another section is below and it may have a fan too. I have pictures of the battery and can see the location of the fan. Email me sauliusagintas@gmail.com and i will send you.

Toyota Estima 2008 Hybrid showing code P0A80. Hybrid fan was clean when it showed up for the first time, was fine for couple of weeks but code showing up again. What's the next best option? Replace the hybrid sensor battery or get the cells replaced for the hybrid system? Thanks in advance.

@@massihaz07 have you checked the 12v battery in the back? Cause if it is weak it may give errors too. If you have an obd scanner you can check your hybrid HV battery. At least you will have an idea of which direction to go. In the worst scenario, your HV battery top section gives you faults. The top section contains 9 elements. Usually middle is dying faster because of the heat.

Also may I know how long the auxiliary 12v battery would last? . Mine already 4.5 years already.

My estima hybrid just turned off itself after engine management light came on and doestn start it starts for 10 seconds and cranks and turns off. Only error code am getting is maf sensor? Do you think it could be the 12v aux battery?

Did car stand for a long time? How many miles on the odometer? Now interestingly enough car doesn't give any error code for about 5 weeks or more. I guess the hv battery was out of balance.

I’ve got the same issue with mine where traction control light comes on along with orange brake light and hybdrid system stops working but again I changed my breaks and PAds a week ago and got the car a month ago and was wondering if You could give me some advice before I go to dealers and get robbed.

Hi Could you tell me I’m keep having my HYBRiD SYSTEM completely off, engine, ABS, parking traction control all lights come on. And car run on engine only. The I take the boot (back) battery terminal off and put it back on again to restart system then it work again fir a few days and turn it back off again. Keep happening. Code is P80 HYBRID SYSTEM FAULT comes on. Please HELP. ESTIMA 2011 AHR-20

How long you had car for? How many km? If your car is high milage I guess that your high voltage hybrid battery has issues. You should take to a garage and check it with a proper scan tool.

@@sauliusagintas thanks for your reply I’ve taken the car to a technician he said I need to replace main battery? He is asking £2750 in London for that. Is that right? I’ve just bought the car and it’s 130 km on it.

@@waqarkhan991 at this milage first signs of battery issue appear. £2750 for this price you should get brand new battery from toyota dealer and plus labour to replace it. Old battery will go back to toyota dealer. Ask your mechanic what he is replacing/ changing/ or doing to your car battery?

Also you can read and clear any error codes. I have a question Saulius. My screen does not have menu option of the wheel like yours in order to view the energy monitor. I can only see the small energy monitor, status of charge in the speedometer display. Any ideas if there is a setting menu option for this? it's all in Japanese so is a bit difficult to figure out.

@@sauliusagintas yes, it is a hybrid. It was standing at the port in Japan for a long time. The car was dead when it arrived to Canada. I boosted the battery (the small battery with negative and positive terminal) and the vehicle started and ran for 2 mins and died again. When it was started, it was charging the main battery pack.

as you know it is important to check 12v battery at the back. If battery bad it won't turn on HV battery relays and the hybrid system won't start. Make sure you have a good one. Mine was gone. After a full charge, it will drop the voltage so quick to 10.7v. With 88k km, this car should be good and the Hybrid battery should not give you any codes. Let me know how you get on with yours.
