Bad News For Qantas, 787s Delayed & Airbus Order

Qantas has delayed the entry into service for the upcoming Airbus A321XLR amid continued manufacturing issues, while it has also adjusted the allocation for the aircraft. Next, Air New Zealand has received word from Boeing that its upcoming 787s will be delayed, and VietJet has announced a new commitment for up to 20 Airbus A330neo jets to enhance its widebody fleet.

    Nothing for the noticeable period... Firstly, Boeing is highly unlike to take back control of Spirit Industries...as a business it grew beyond a point Boeing can easily step in... Secondly, Airbus maintains the lead on the a220 segment (as Boeing doesn’t really have an answer to it). Thirdly, the a320 family remains a technologically better solution (and less problematic) than the 737 max..with the caveat that Boeing has nothing really that competes with the a321xlr...

    Since Boeing encouraged airlines to densify aircraft, namely with 9 across on the 787 originally designed for 8, and on the 777 originally designed and deployed with 9 across, the 320 family has become more comfortable and desirable for long haul since they have wider seats. The 380 and some 330s are still in their original wide seat configuration. I beleive JAL has 8 across on theur long haul 787 so those would be desiragle too. As of a year or two ago Turkish still have 9 across on their 777s. That Qantas operate PER-LHR on a 9 across 787 with narrow seats in coach is mind boggling.

  • @rtbrtb_dutchy4183

    @rtbrtb_dutchy4183

    4 ай бұрын

    Silly thing to say. Seats are the same. Only difference is that you can use two isles to stretch your legs versus one. Hardly anyone does so. Also, on a single Isle, a third of the seats are middle seats. On a wide body, you have almost two thirds as a middle seat.

  • @jfmezei

    @jfmezei

    4 ай бұрын

    With densificaion of wide body jets, seats on widebody jets (9 across on 787, 330, and 10 across on 350 and 777) are narrower than the seats on 320/321/319. This is why it is important to check seat maps for your carrier because some carriers still have 8 across on 330, and some carriers stuck with 9 across on 777 and 7 across on 787. The 747 and 380 never got densification in any widespread way. seatguru is your friends in finding a compfortable plane. Airlines are not there to make your flight conformatable, they are there to make your flight as miserable as people will tolerate. @@rtbrtb_dutchy4183
