Reminds me of my father and both my maternal and paternal grandfathers, all three are USAF veterans. Luckily, my father is still with us, he will be 62 this July. Sadly both my grandfathers have long since passed. Paternal has been gone about 23 years now, I wasn't quite 21 when he passed. Maternal has been gone 17 years now 😢

That's one of the original functions of the army. in ancient times slaves where not recluted into the army because they where consider as never grown up kids, incapable to do certain things. war was for warriors, for men. for real adults. the army was initially created as a way of initiation to adulthood.

It's the whole point of boot camp, you have to break a recruit down to what really pisses them off, get them angry and then teach them how to control it and turn themselves into a weapon.

I knew a guy like Kett when I was in basic training. We had a hard time calming him down when he lost his temper, but when we were finished he had completely remodeled himself. The chain of command purposely breaks you down in the start and then builds you back from scratch, and youll be a better person when youre done.

There is 1950s Soviet Army training but their method of discipline would be highly illegal in any western military and nowadays just about any military. There is also 1930s-1940s Soviet Army training. This would be the Stalin and Beria era. If you screwed up then, not only would you go to the Gulag but your family too if not shot. That's if Stalin got you. If Beria got to you...he was a known sexual predator so feared even Stalin didn't want him anywhere near his daughter. Let's just say some Comrade would be tooting that ass up and likely won't be his

As a infantry sergeant i can tell ya if you think this isnt a real army you have no idea what army is really like. The main point in army is flattening peoples pride and making them highly self discipline. What these guys went through is EXACTLY what they'd be going through in real army, so they definately are real soldiers in my eyes

A week or so at Fort Benning, Parris Island MCRD or San Diego MCRD in the front leaning rest position and an infinite number of eight count push ups, would straighten Kett, Brown or any like them most efficiently. If those three places can't straighten them out, three weeks at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, KS or the NAVCONBRIG at Miramar, CA will definitely change their attitudes

I was in the Army Reserve from 1986-1992 and I saw a lot of this sort of yelling and beasting. Most of the blokes who copped the wrath actually had issues like ADHD, low IQ or being mildly autistic. Kett shows all the signs of someone with ADHD while the Thomson twins show signs of being mildly autism with possible BPD.

It was land ownership and I am sure you well know. Land owners put up fences. A group of rebels did not like it. Kett who worked for the land owners joined them and raised and army of 16000 people and sacked the city. I lived in Norwich(Warwick st) and worked and lived in the area. Coming from Guildford I love the North Folk and think it significant that Kett and even Boudica were both from very close to Norwich. Weyo Boyo propar fightin Faarmers. Best

Warwick St, Just outside the city right? ;], I've never been to Guilford but it seems really nice there. I don't know too much about it tbh, only that they rebelled against the crown due to enclosure of land and that they all met under an Oak tree to plan and conspire, I need to brush up on my history a bit. Don't forget Nelson too, another notable Norfolkian! Norfolk is a beautiful county rich in lore and History, Awesome Mustard too!
