You do realize people live and work in those big buildings, right? Excessive horn blowing is annoying as fuck. This confirms my belief that the noise I hear outside my office all day is mostly tourists who think Manhattan is an extension of their car-obsessed subrub. Glad you're having fun, though. If you hate driving in New York so much, why don't you do those of us who actually live here a favor and take the train?

It’s called getting used to it. Think about people who live next to railroad crossings and the people who live in heavily populated cities in countries like india, china, Japan, Mexico, etc. they get used to the sounds of living in a urban environment

@@rb810810 no but I do live near a urban city called Atlanta georgia and iv been to New York City before. They are used to the driving culture and that’s what makes up the environment of the city.

I was born and raised in NYC all my life and i almost never honk at anyone. You gotta learn to have patience when driving. This person is just entitled and spoiled when it comes to driving.

Bad Drivers of Maryland Sorry one last thing - do you do anything to enhance the audio of your horn? It just sounds really loud and when I make a video I feel like the mic on my vantrue is muffled a little bit so the sound isn’t as loud and clear.

That's a good question. I'm proud to say I don't do anything to enhance the audio of my videos. It's the same volume as the raw clip, and the video image itself has no filter or anything like that. All my clips are raw clips, just cut short and put into the timeline. The camera doesn't justify the audio in real life quite exactly but I'm pleased enough with it. It also doesn't really show how much I brake for people, so my rear cam is now at least making my braking efforts a bit more evident. Guess we'll just have to meet up so you can hear everything in person!

Harun Malik Thank you. I’ve definitely improved over time since my NYC 2 video. I’m from MD btw, but I go to NYC a lot bc of family that lives there, and I plan to move within the next year or two.

I dont live in the city but i live 1 hour north and frequently drive in Manhattan. You’re clearly not from NY because your beeping is overkill as fuck. Jesus Christ.

11:00 bad judgement, you saw a dangerous driver WAY early yet you still proceeded to accelerate towards it only to brake hard at the end and jerk over to the shoulder. Yeah, you're that guy.

I wasn't accelerating at all. I was coasting. Cars brake ahead of me all the time, so how was I to assume that this particular one was dangerous? You're assuming what I saw and what I did, which is incorrect, but from the video I see how you may have thought these things. This is why at the beginning of every video I display a disclaimer. Like I said, I wasn't able to realize this driver was dangerous until I was right behind them. When the clip starts I'm 500 ft away, right when I began to see braking. Even after I pass, I was confused. I never fully understood what happened until looking back on the video. Also, keep in mind that from when the clip starts to when it happens, there was only ten seconds, which includes reaction time and action time.

I'm actually a tlc driver in NYC so I drive ALOT in the city, you guys are really overdoing it with the honking. It's supposed to be used to warn someone or another driver of a dangerous situation, not when your upset at another driver. Beeping so much just pisses off other drivers and annoys the people in the city, like in a given day I think I only beep 4/5 times max... get a grip and be more patient and understanding where 70/80 percent of these drivers are coming from

I feel like its actually the opposite..since its busy, and it will take longer get places, your goal is to try to get somewhere as quickly as possible, and anyone that's impeding (bad drivers/traffic cheaters) shall get a honk, and have no patience for them...completely different than a small town where there's no rush and you can take your time (if warranted)

Seriously. I do light honking and stick my arm out the window to let the driver know it's their right away. It's less threatening and it will move the traffic. Of course be aggressive when you have to be.

In roundabouts, when you trying to enter, you must wait until traffic has cleared from your left completely. Stay to the right if you are exiting to make a 90 degree right turn, move to the left lane if you need to go straight, once passed the first right off, you move the right lane to exit. Left hand turn is basically the same as straight only you move to the right once you are at the left turn.

Thanks for the help. I'm usually good with roundabouts, because I use a single lane one everyday in my commute, but two lane ones can be confusing because they are designed differently. After I got home from my trip, I looked up that particular one on google maps and analyzed the layout. I couldn't be mad at myself, because on one side it's a single lane roundabout, but on the other, two lanes. Poorly designed, but at least I avoided an accident. It didn't help my passenger likes to tell me when I can go and where without being sure...but I told her how I don't like her "backseat driving" and we're working on that. Thanks for viewing!
