I grew up in a small Indiana town and the police chief was pretty much like cheif wiggums, he even sounded a little like him.

@@dustinprewitt I wouldn't really say his argument fell apart. All you ever said as a rebuttal was "I bet you believe that" which hardly does anything. His reply rather than having the air of someone who feels as though they're backed into a corner and their argument is falling apart thus resulting in childish insults, seems to be the result of him thinking "of course that's what I believe because it's true. But this guy will never believe me no matter how many facts I give him so I might as well just insult him on my way out." Now I'm no expert on the whole idea of de funding but from what I've gathered the basic idea is that the police are being stretched too thin and being sent to deal with problems that they are not qualified to deal with. These are problems that can better be handled by other vastly underfunded programs. Basically not every situation requires a man with a gun, and sometimes situations are made more dangerous by their involvement. Police officers would ideally be able to focus on matters where they're likely to be of more help. At the end of the day the whole thing sounds like it would be better for the police officers too.

As an EX law enforcement person ive seen officer's far worse than Wiggim

Back in the early seasons the Simpsons' address changed a lot. Their house number changed a lot and even their street changed to Spalding Way in one episode. But it was eventually solidified as 724 Evergreen Terrace

I recall in the 1990s an episode of The Simpsons which was poking fun at Fox-TV spin-off shows; as Fox seemed to always be coming up with spin-offs of successful TV shows in that era. One of those parodies was "Chief Wiggum, P.I." which was about a retired police chief going into the private-investigation business.

2:29, I've never seen this episode but scene had me die. I knew exactly what was going to happen after he wiped the rag all over him. It was still just so dang funny. I love old Simpsons
