Tell me if I got this right: 1) Download video 2) Downscale video 3) Convert every frame to black and white (or perhaps, everything that's not white is treated as black) 4) Convert each frame to a CSV (or other text format) 5) Read the text as outputs for setting the block to either lit cube or unlit cube (white or black, 1 or 0) 6) Run at 120 TPS which scales nicely to 60 Frames per second, the video format If you do end up building this in redstone, in order to "refresh" the bulbs, send the previous image again and all lit bulbs will become unlit.

You got the main gist yeah! What I did was: Downscale vid Detect white pixels Convert a frame into Minecraft commands and put them in an .mcfunction file Run those mcfunction file!

Forgot for a second that I was looking at Bad Apple on copper bulbs, which is to say that this is super smooth. Excellent job.

It baffles me that you were able to do this. I know the tick speed command was essential to get the smooth framerate, but the idea of programing those frames is insane to me.

To be honest I'm not sure if he did program all the frames. If he did he probably made a program for it as doing it manually would be infeasible. The reason I doubt if he actually redstone-programmed all of the frames is cause he presses a command block to activate it and never shows the redstone behind it. This tells me that it most likely is just a bunch of commandblocks doing fill and setblock commands instead of an actual redstone device you can build in survival.

I had to use some datapack and general optimisation techniques for it to work smoothly! Every frame, I'm not placing every lit and unlit copper bulbs for each pixel, but only the bulbs that *changed* from the previous frame. Making this command video player at least 100x more efficient!

I've seen someone make a Music maker a few months ago, and they where complaining about the limitations, of things, and now we can play the related Music video to accompany it
