I think that the dislikes on some of your product reviews don't stem from the fact that you are using the device improperly. The audience understands that mistakes do happen. However, I think that the dislikes stem from your attitude. Sometimes, it seems like you don't even want the product to work and hate it from the beginning. Like there are many times you question the product before even using it once. It's very negative and honestly, frustrating. Other youtubers like Crazy Russian Hacker are optimistic in their product testing videos and this make their videos more enjoyable to watch. Just my 2 cents.

KCuber This video seemed to be an advertisement for the other bacon cooker but disguised as a review for the bacon boss.
Pulling bacon from the end will stretch it out slightly, which will result in it not fitting in the Bacon Boss. I had the same problem in my review, which I remedied by gently peeling it from the center out of the packaging. My final conclusion was about the same, however.
When you don't read instructions, use the product wrongly then complain cause the product didn't work properly. lmao. I understand the dislikes on this video
You had it upside down buddy. Read the instructions first. No need to rush.
You did it wrong! The container has to be upside down so the grease can flood the microwave!

Charles Damery I was thinking the same thing too Comparing it to the picture on the box it looked like his tray was upside down
It was upside down lol. Try again buddy
I was upside down.
It's upside down. Instructions as part of show prep should be a thing by now. :/
Bacon Boss Creator 1: Hey should we put an instruction booklet in this specific box? Bacon Boss Creator 2: Nah, This one is going to specifically end up in the hands of Jack he doesn't play by the rules anyway.
Mistakes happen but a redo has to be done to give this product a fair shot.
We can all tell you wanted that product to fail!!!!
I've always found all the bacon cookers in the microwave totally unnecessary, cos two paper towels with bacon between them works perfect, and with the paper the grease gets absorbed, especially if you use something thick like Bounty.
@bleepnsheep2310

Absolutely right. I have a makin bacon. And you have to put paper towels all over it to keep it from splattering inside the microwave. And the bacon is all bunched up. Paper towels on a plate work better.
Agree, love your vids Jack, but if you are going to do an half-assed effort you can't hide it, at least show some respect by reading the instructions eh?
Must of done something wrong because mine works 100x better than yours did.
Shouldn't you have washed it first anyway?
yeah...you could tell from the star he wanted it to fail, personally...I think the bacon boss is crap too, but come on...you condemned it before the box was open...almost like you saw someone else's review...or you get paid from the other ...just sayin
Sorry Jack, you had it wrong. Had to flip the container the other way.

i bet the directions were on that wrapping to your left, theres a white sticker on the bubble wrap with writing on it, and yeah like everyone else said, you had it upside down
OVEN BACON is the best way.. Foil + Sheet Pan + Oven @ 400 for 15min. Simple cleanup
It's upside down...
Man...I love coming here to see the reviews on items. But man that was an epic fail of a test. First off just throwing away the instructions... I understand his logic that the words for warning would be on the side facing up, but we've seen manufacturers put stuff on wrong side.. What would it hurt Jack to test with item flipped the other way? It really feels like he wants the first product he showed to come out on top. And this is coming from someone who likes Jack and his reviews. (Don't care about his personal beliefs/past/whatever....just care about his reviews/demonstrations on here... so I'm not a hater) Seems a lot of good will and showing a commitment to honest reviews would come out if he did a retest and then showed how both sides work. What would it hurt? And it would show he listens to his audience. Just my two cents.
Dude, get a real job.

3:00 Bacon shrinks.... you know this, you just want to hate the product.
Cooks the greasiest food in the world. Gets mad it's greasy. Lmfao
Well if you'd noticed, the grooves are SLANTED,So that if you had noticed that detail perhaps when you walked with it you wouldn’t have sloshed it back in forwards and let the grease come back up onto the bacon… Guys!🤦🏻♀️
Thanks for the review. But when you don't find the instructions until halfway through the review I can tell that you are doing a real review. Seems like the reviewer goes out of his way to make things difficult - like purposely sloshing the grease out of the trough while moving it. I do agree that the Makin Bacon is easier to get a whole point cooked at once.
Need to retest. Was not done correctly.

Maceclaw that's a tricky one. All I can think is either a) the lid screws down to counteract any expanding the heated plastic might do n make splashing a danger or b) because of the shallowness of the pan if you don't screw the lid the grease bubbles up and thru the silicone lining the lid or c) screwing the lid creates a better cooking environment? Maybe it holds in a small amount of moisture or keeps the strips in close contact with ridges--less air, quicker, more even cooking? That's all I got, lol 😃

Alcsaar0 Also a good point.
I don't understand why people are so rude about the reviews. Most people aren't professional reviewers, they're just consumers telling their own experiences or doing it for fun. Clearly Jack is doing it for fun. He buys the product for the purpose of doing the review. I think he's funny and it's fun seeing some of the stupid products that exist on the market fail horribly.
@moroccan-soldier.5331

EpiqFail he chose to review products. He never reads the instructions, and than blames the product for failing. He has to accept everything that gets trown at him because he was the one deciding to upload the vid. The company of this product now gets less customers, etc. because of this vid. And he does not do it for fun, but for money.
@chaching4363

He admits to returning 90% of the products lol , but still he knows there will always be the no good a** holes that have to give there piece of mind. I personally appreciate the videos he makes an don't like to see the bad things said about him
This was like a cheesy infomercial for makin' bacon lol
Using the base plate upside down? And you base your assessment on this product when you use it that way? NEXT time 1) read the instructions thoroughly BEFORE using ANY tool 2) when you make a mistake (as you clearly did in this case) go back and use the product as it is intended and THEN do an update. I don't see anywhere in the comments where you indicated an update or that you even acknowledged the mistake you made. Anyone can paint almost anything in a negative light, either because they're biased or because they make mistakes and base their conclusions on faulty performance of the product rather than the tester. And it only takes one example of this approach to make people feel that your analysis of whatever else you're endorsing or testing will lack credibility.
THE LAMP GAHHH CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
I think they're using center-cut bacon. If you compare regular bacon & center-cut bacon the regular bacon in usually longer than center-cut.
@cookingwithjackshow

it's regular kirkland bacon from Costco. Center cut is twice as thick and twice the meat area
How do you prevent your "Making Bacon" from making a total mess of your microwave? I had one of those and tried wax paper over the top to prevent spatter, but the ventilation fan kept blowing it off and I still had a mess. I wound up trashing my "Making Bacon" microwave utensil.
LOL. How can u even do reviews?????
I have BaconBosd. And i love it. My kid making his own bacon and very safe. He loves it too. 😍
Just give me a cast iron skillet. Now that's how to do bacon!
I saw this at Fry's in their TV products section. Glad I saw this as I was thinking about getting it but I think ill order the vertical one instead :D Thanks for the informative review

Just trim the damn bacon. At least it keeps the bacon grease from the inside of microwave the other products leave the microwave a mess...and who wants bent bacon.
I love the makin bacon one as well. it actually does vary on time and thickness but it works everytime. and it fits in the microwave. I have another that is good but too larger so it doesn't turn on the microwave but it does still work awesome and it's $10 at my local Wally world. thanks for the review it really does help us.
When all else fails then you read the destructions last:)
I have to say just one thing, I love the honest reviews.
Makin Bacon spurts greese all over your microwave have to cover the whole bacon thing with Scott towels
I looooooove bacon! Hugs from Colombia. Have a great Holliday
they use center cut bacon which is smaller
i love the makin bacon one..got it years ago and not found anything better ...easy to clean and just throw a paper tower over to reduce splatter and done
I have one of these it cooks the bacon real good. But you can get very many pieces on it. After a few uses it’s so hard to clean. It’s a nightmare to clean.
When did it become a bad thing to have grease on the bacon. It's inherent!
As others have mentioned, you used it upside down, you stretched the bacon when removing it from package (the ends you cut off could have been added to the pan as bacon shrinks) and I am not sure which picture you were looking at on the box but the one I could see showed 6 pieces of bacon on tray not 5. Hope this helps others rethink the negativity of this review and make their own informed opinion. Reviews are useful when the reviewer follows the directions properly. Now lets get bac on this review train.
You cooked the bacon on the wrong side lol tip: flip it over
Baking sheet pan, tin foil, oven. Stick with the classic...
...its not long enough to hold your bacon!!! hahahaa
Jack was using the product so the handles were towards the top. Which I'd assume is correct.
Hi Jack. Decent review and enjoyed, although I wouldn't buy either as I use cast iron skillets and griddles exclusively for bacon and don't buy toys. And I use thick-sliced butcher bacon as opposed to stretchy thin plastic commercially wrapped slices.

They are all too short. Makin Bacon allows the ends of the bacon to touch the puddle of grease. One minute per slice is not always good.
Let me make a correction to MY comment! I started out by echoing another person's comment about using this base upside down -- THAT person was incorrect! I looked at some other videos of this device and indeed it was correctly used. So, I'd say that this video here DOES demonstrate how this device works given his 1st impression of it. Whether working with the device to refine what it can do (or maybe more accurately allow it to perform optimally) would change this reviewer's mind I have no idea. Probably not based on his comment about another product (which, as another person pointed out, requires paper towels to prevent splatter). One thing that might be interesting to try with this device is seeing if the grease in the trap can be drained part way through the cooking cycle with the lid still in place which might not only facilitate better drainage of the grease from the bacon itself but improve the speed of cooking since fat especially absorbs microwave energy and in the case of cooking bacon is not necessary to "reheat".
I know you like to be green, but bacon layered between two paper towels inside 2 sturdy paper plates always works for me. You can make as many layers as needed. The bacon comes out crispy, all the grease is absorbed, and there is no splatter inside the microwave. Your hanging bacon rack would make way too big a mess for me to clean up.
He stretched the bacon as he removed it. Plus bacon shrinks as it cooks, you can bunch it together and it will shrink to fit the pan. you have to lay any bacon on hand towel that has been cooked, unless you like grease and don't mind heart attacks. Use this all the time and have great results. Your test is a bust, make shure you have a high watt microwave the little guys won't do. all the open type cookers do is splatter up your microwave, this keeps it clean.
I want to know where you got the "Christmas Story" lamp, I NEED to have one of those on my desk.

Everybody knows that cooking bacon in your oven is the best way to achieve good results. Use a baking sheet with a cooling rack on top. Drape the bacon on the rack so the grease drips onto the tray and there you go. Perfectly cooked bacon
My thick cut bacon fit perfectly and wasn't greasy. I suggest buying a better quality bacon. Also we fit more bacon than you did by arranging it neater. We also really like the cover stopping splattering in 'wave.

I use my George Foreman to cook my bacon... perfect every time!
You don't have to cut the bacon it will shrink during cooking.
Watching their infomercial, it seems like you can use either side, but Jack, the side you used is technically meant for bacon twists or something. Either way, even using the "correct side" looks like you'd wind up with a grease puddle. The only thing I'd say is that you should've just let the bacon fit in without trimming it. In your video for the product you prefer, you were concerned about how long the bacon was but it shrinks up. If you had just laid the bacon in and let it double over itself in one or two places - not stretched it - it would've fit.
That's usually what i do with bacon anyway is trim the fat off the end(s). A piece of bacon that is about %80 lean is perfect in my opinion. Peace Brother!
bacon shrinks, you don't need to cut it

These micro bacon cookers are all losers. Use a large, foil lined, cookie sheet with a cooling rake on top. Bake @ 350°, 25 to 30 min. or until desired doneness. Flat, straight bacon with no grease. Let cookie sheet cool, fold up foil and discard. Sweet!
