Backyard Outdoor Golf Simulator

Спорт

In this video I show my backyard outdoor golf simulator. I use a Mevo+ launch monitor on my setup. Here are links some of the items used for this simulator build.
Mevo+ unit ► www.flightscopemevo.com/
Golf cage nets ► jones-sports.com/
I purchased the golf net insert 14'w x 12'h x 10'h
and the 10'x10' practice net baffle.
I used bungee balls to attach the netting to the cage.
Golf cage frame fittings ► www.a1tarps.com/
Due to conduit being 10' long, and the cage needing
14' & 12' lengths I did purchased two-way connectors
and spliced together pipes to get my lengths.
Hitting mat ► 5stargolfmats.com/
I purchased the Gorilla Perfect Reaction 5'x5' mat
Golf net target stripe ► www.justfornets.com/
Astroturf, turf spices, & edging ► www.amazon.com/
Conduit and concrete ► From Lowes or Home Depot

    Very nicely done. I just built one today up here in Canada. Waiting for my netting. But the total cost is just under $500 CND. The nice thing about this is you can just go in the back yard when you feel inspired and whack a few. Have a nice cold beverage. Livin the dream.👍.

    love the set up. Does any one know of a net or a screen that might have a golf view? So instead of hitting into a solid color net or a target, you would be hitting into a picture of a fairway or a green. Would be great for the outdoor cage when you can't set up a projector.

    This pipe has held up fine. I have gotten a slight bed due to it being conduit. I am thinking of upgrading the cage to chainlink fence top rail as it is much more rigid. But, 2 full years so far and no problems.

    Hey, love the setup. I’ve been researching ideas for my own yard and came across yours. Now that you’ve had this for a while, few questions if you don’t mind: 1) Do you take the mat inside when you’re not using it, or to protect it from the rainy season? 2) how is the mat holding up? Does it feel good on the joints and impact? 3) did you have to do anything to keep the mat stable? I’m in the Pacific Northwest so we get our fair share of rain and cold. Would like to keep this in working order through most of the year if possible.

    i have left the mat outside now for 2 full years and have no problems. Mat is holding up well. It is pretty easy on the joints. I do have some angle iron on corners to keep the mat stable. I will be doing a new video in the near future and will show this

    Hey Braden looks great! So for the horizontal and vertical poles, are there two poles connected with framing connectors due to the length being larger than 10 feet?

  • @bramic59

    @bramic59

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes. I put the 10' section from ground up and 2' section of pipe on the top on the vertical poles. I did 10' and 4' sections for the horizontal poles. I did add screws in all my connectors into the pipes in addition to the tension screws to make sure they wont loosen up.

    Love it man! Looking at same thing around Xmas in Australia but going to do setup outside but hitting into patio so I can projector and screen cause my roof is only 8ft high so can’t do fully indoor. My question is how sensitive is the mevo plus….cause I’m thinking I’ll have to build shs steel boxes to match the height of patio as it drops just over 3 inches to my lawn. Also do you have that on indoor mode?

  • @bramic59

    @bramic59

    2 жыл бұрын

    my mevo is pretty level with my hitting mat. There is a setting to adjust the tee height difference. Not sure how much 3" would effect it. I do run the short indoor mode as I am 8' mevo to ball and 10' ball to net.

    @@wolfyand1 I have it set on short indoor mode due to the distance from ball to net being 10'. Im unable to do it inside, dont have high enough ceilings. If i had taller ceilings in the garage I would set it up in there especially to escape the heat outside.

    Prices have changed since i built this a couple years ago. But you should be about $300 for the net enclosure, $150 for the additional baffle net i used. $250 for all conduit and connectors. Hitting mats will vary in price depending on what you pick. Id say at least $400 for a good one. $550 for the turf i put on the ground.

  • @christopherd7922
    @christopherd79224 ай бұрын

    Hi what an excellent job you did. I see that for the conduit and connectors you spent $95. I see that today for just one piece of conduit at 10 feet is $21.24 at Lowes. I was wondering if that $95 was just for the connectors or has inflation driven it all up that much? Do you recall how many pieces of conduit that you needed for the project? ty

  • @xmizacex

    @xmizacex

    I was kind of hoping he'd reply, by my estimation, you're going to have $275 into a net, $95 into fittings, plus shipping on those two items, and then probably almost $300 just into conduit.

  • @bramic59

    It was not easy to build and will not be easy to put away. The plan is to leave this up over the winter. Im in central Missouri so we do get a lot of cool gold weathet during the winter, low 40 degree days, so i will use it throughout the winter. The is designed to be outside all year and last about 7 years so i am not too concerned. If I do decide to take it down, the net is attached to all the framing with bunjee balls so it would be a little time consuming to do but not terrible to take down. I would not plan to take the frame apart. It was a challenge to get it built with how big it is.
