BACKYARD DIRT JUMPS PROGRESS IS INSANE!! LOCKDOWN EP3

Ойын-сауық

The backyard dirt jumps are looking amazing. I've built what could be a full line of trails ready to be ridden on MTB or BMX. Right now the jumps aren't massive but now I've built these important two hip jumps, the speed won't be such an issue and the new dirt jumps will be massive! I've promised to build a whatetail feature in the next trail building video. thanks for all the support and unreal comments. Keep them coming and enjoy this episode of my garden trails & pit bike track and see you soon for more trail building progress!

You should use grass turf to build 'walls' on the lips/landings. That way you can basically make the sides vertical. The turf also won't crack because it's 70% grass roots :D

You should split two lines off a hip, have one line go left and one go right and make them roughly the same, make the hip really wide so two people can send it at the same time and be able to race each other down each line. Connect them near the bottom then have a kicker I reckon something like that’d be sick. It’s looking so good!

Hey Matt. I'd recommend watching some Greg barling videos. He builds dirt jumps over in Australia. Absolutely massive ones. I remember watching a video of his where he dampened a ramp and then dusted over it in concrete powder. He said it might help it hold shape and be a bit more solid. So if you want to experimemt with stuff then concrete powder might be the way to go. Love the content man. Keep it up.

Hey boss, best way to keep them from cracking we found at Red Hill, is to carpet the jump and sides while it is wet, and soak the carpet. In a few days, the sun dries the dirt a lot slower so there isnt a rapid drying of the outer layer of dirt and slower inner core. They dry slowly together and produce a much harder, much more consistent composition. if you only have access to a carpet or two, just move them after a day or so to the new features! Keep em coming, we are going mad not being able to get up and play in the clay!

Thank you so much for these videos Matt. Although I'm still working full time as a postman they are a great escape from the current madness in the world. I love building and riding DH trails. You and your bro are legends 🤙

Matt, the only key word you need to pay attention to is... "Transfers". Lots of them, so can play a little with the different lines. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to install high decks in the corners (bmx park style) so you can easily climb up and reset you speed, drop to different features, or throw a flair. Just as Seth's berm peak, these series are awesome to watch and see how trails and jumps are slowly built. Nice work!

Massive garden/field envy! How satisfying was it to watch the sieved dirt erase the cracks almost instantly when it was brushed over! Awesome. You’ll have some cracking sessions on that 🤘🏻
