Same here. I'm a derby freshie and going backwards is not going as quickly as I'd want. I'm scared I might bump into something too, so that's not helping. :') It's slowly getting better tho.

Hey there Dirty, this was the video tutorial that put me over to get it. The V helped! Last night I was able to officially and confidently skate backwards. I'm new to skating as of this summer. I purchased a pair of boot Ridell's quad skates in August and less than 60days I'm grooving. I'm a 40 something single dad, and me and my teenage son challenged each other to see who could skate backwards first. He caught me watching your videos and said you make it look so smooth. He is almost there, I saw him using your tips as well! Thanks love. Thumbs up and Subscribing. Houston TX.

Hey Dirty Deborah Harry I know this is late, but I just wanted to thank u, I’ve been searching KZread a while to find out how to backwards skate and you’re videos help the most, I watched the whole playlist and applied everything you said and today at the rink I was able to skate backwards, but it was with your help so thank you and keep posting vids because I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say they are useful

Practice standing on one foot when your not skatin. Work on knee bends both legs and single leg at a time. The first ones I exercised I did 5. Two days later I did 9. Im old tho.

I tried backwards skating a couple times before and only managed to scissor backwards veryyyy slowly and painfully, but after watching this video, I went out to practice and was immediately able to skate backwards like how you showed! It felt like magic--I was so excited, I had the biggest grin on my face. Thank you so so so much!!

I love that she has both in depth tutorials and quick ones too, I always watch the qui k ones first to start getting the hang of things and then watching the long ones to get better

I recently started a love for roller skating... but I still have so many things to learn This video gives me the morale boost I needed to practice even more! Thank you! :D

My son loves RS. He use to go 3x a year with school functions and sucked at it. He picked up a pair of skates at a thrift store 2 sizes to big but made em work. In two weeks he was moving and grooving. 6 months later I told him to try and skate backwards to be able to say " yea I can roller skate" but he was reluctant. After watching this video 5 times he picked it up. He skates backwards the same as he skated forwards before he had the skates. He'll keep practicing and get better. Great video.

You are so quick and amazing. I usually watch these videos at the skating rink and it’s so annoying when people take 10 mins to get to the point. You jump straight to it and now I’m skating backwards. Once I get use to it I’ll add more things. 🧡🤍🧡🤍 keep doing what your doing.

This was so helpful!! Had been having trouble with poor instructions in other videos, but this was so helpful! Went out and nailed it and felt comfortable skating backwards in under 20 minutes!

Had to pause the video where you said knock kneed and pigeon toed! I cracked up bc back in the day if you walked like that you got ROASTED ... Anyway I'm dropping you another line of thanks - I was the girl that emailed you skating with ski poles in mid June... well baby in the rink last night I found some courage and attempted the transition to backwards (admittedly very close to the wall)... SUCCESS. Even had the nerve to call myself crosspulling in the corner. The experienced skaters cheered me on and I feel like I won a gold medal. Your videos and energy are the best. Thank you for what you do for the community.

these tutorials are just great. easy to understand, it's really helping me teach my 6yr old. please can you let us know what skates you where and why. I find the it a bit overwhelming trying to choose the right wheels and skates. any advice would be much appreciated. much love from the U.K
