BTW i just found u on YT and you are hysterically funny! love your total honesty & abundance of knowledge on kitchens. In a space of 2 days, binge watching ur videos, Ive learnt soooo much that I NEVER knew! thanks for sharing. Saved time, money & hassle. The more I watched, the more I said to myself "how can i relate so much to this woman?" sure enough you mentioned a few NY-isms and I realized your a fellow NY-er!! transplanted to FL (sure 1/2 of FL is 1/2 NY-ers... haa haa). Thanks very much for the advice. Two hours before my backsplash installer was due to arrive I saw your video. It stopped me from extending my tile past the cabinets to the end of the countertop on one side of my kitchen. It stopped me from tiling two side walls on the other side.

My cabinets reach eight feet up a nine foot wall. Is it a definite no to tile above the cabinets?

Its one foot of visible wall between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling. I was just curious if tiling it would be an option.

It is a personal choice. It creates a contemporary look. Is that what you want?
I’m struggling with a 1.5 inch gap between the edge of the countertops and the door trim. There is a light switch in the way of course. So what would you do?

End it at the counter! Going to the trim and having a weird overhang of tile may look unfinished. Any chance to slide outlet over?

🤔 you can’t go to an upper overhanging the counter below. If I’m understanding correctly, I’d go with the counter. That’s an odd one!

My backsplash tile is top quality paint. It cleans in a jiffy and the color can and has been change on a whim. And it has never failed or fallen off the wall nor have I ever had to move a switch or plug because of it. Trends and following them means very soon your trendy backsplash will be out dated. I prefer to just do paint because It is always stylish and as diverse as I can imagine. You know you love all those paint color racks! So go get creative. If Liz could live in a home for 10+ years without tiles so can you!
