Could you do a video talking more about the kula cloth? I have heard of it but I’m interested in your experience with it, where you store it/how you keep it clean etc.

Search my channel for this video. I made one about two years ago. I clip it to the outside of my backpack. For day hikes I wash it when I get home and for backpacking trips I rinse it in the stream.

Kula cloths are a must have. Just as Hike Oregon describes. I clip travel size sanitizer with Kula Cloth on backpack. No smell, sanitary way to reduce tp paper and be hygienic in toileting. Woman owned business. Check the website. Worth it.
Very interesting, especialy kula cloth, myself still us a bandana. You could "upgrade" (depends how you see it) your kit with a travel bidet and menstruation cup. So you don't have dirty trash anymore, to carry out.

I will never use a cup while backpacking. It is not very hygienic sticking my dirty hands up there. I would most definitely get an infection. At home where I have soap and water for my hands for before and after cup removal this is not a problem. The bidet is something I’ll keep in mind though.
You got me there, I’m googling vitamin I like it’s some supplement that I should take to will aid in a vitamin deficiency most backpackers may have. Then I see it’s ibuprofen, I always referred to it as backpacking candy. I’ll do better. Great video

Hahhahha I’m sorry. I didn’t realize I said it and that not everyone knows what that means until I was editing so that’s why I have some text on the screen as well.

Go easy on it. Do your research. Ibuprofen is not meant to be used as I see it promoted by the hiking community on you tube. Know your limits-- you won't find them with ibuprofen.

In all my years of backpacking I think I’ve taken ibuprofen once. I only take it for headaches.
Ever used the " bodynglide" anti chafe balm on the feet ? I have heard it is worth the effort of packing for the mileage

No I haven’t. I don’t chafe anywhere and I wear toe socks so I don’t get blisters.

@@HikeOregon so you are saying if I wear toe socks I will have legs like yours ? I am just kidding 😆 I am not a thru hiker but I have geared up & have looked to thru hikers like yourself for lots! Thanks for a fun channel and sharing your experiences 🌞

I am not a thru hiker either :) I am just your average backpacker.
Nice video but I would not suggest the sunscreen. If you're enjoying nature why put chemicals on your body? I keep my skin covered with a hat, long-sleeve sunshirt and pants with zip-off legs. As a photographer, I also worry about getting sunscreen on my gear. Well, I used to. Also, any of the sunscreen chemicals your body doesn't absorb will be washed off in a lake or wherever you swim/bath. Also: Tom's of Maine is now owned by Colgate Palmolive. So, if you think you're supporting the little guy, you're not. I also avoid Total, because of its chemicals.

I'm not a huge fan of sunscreen, and I too have a sun shirt and a sun hat. But as you can see in the video, I have a very large nose and my hat doesn't cover it so I put sunscreen on my nose and I always wear shorts in the summer, so if I'm not already tanned from the summer months or if I'm hiking on snow or lava, I will put sunscreen on my legs. If I did put sunscreen on my legs, I make sure to wipe it off with my baby wipes before jumping in the lake (LNT). The reason I use Tom's is because it's easily available and one of the only toothpastes I can easily find that doesn't contain fluoride which I am allergic to.
