Another great episode Dan! That shot of The Temple while going up the Cramer Divide was EPIC dude! Props to Josh for the summit vlog... very cool man. And that view of the White Clouds from Sand Mountain was just absolutely mind-blowing! I really like that you take the time to enjoy the trip and hit those "must sees" along the way vs just putting in the miles... that's what it's all about brother. Thumbs up!

Man, thanks John! That was an epic climb. You know, I didn't even realize what the temple was at the time. It wasn't on my paper map nor was it on my GaiaGPS app. It wasn't until I came home that I realized what it was.. and regardless it was awesome! Do you have a trip that resonates with you as an all-time favorite? For me that's the White Clouds from last year, and getting to see them clear as day from Sand Mountain was probably my favorite part of the trip. I caught the peak bagging/mountain summit bug when we did D.O. Lee Peak and that's what sparked doing all these extra side climbs. I don't think I would've pushed up Sand Mountain if it wasn't for that. It's definitely what it's all about. I really can't thank you enough for the continued support to my channel! Hope you're getting out on the trail this Fall. Cheers!!

@@DannyJSchaefer It's absolutely my pleasure Dan! You've got an outstanding channel and your vids are always very enjoyable to watch. It's an honor to support ya brother! Man, it's incredibly difficult to pick out just one trip as an all-time fave, haha. If I did have to pick just one it would probably be the 3 week trip that I took to the Sawtooths a few years back. It was EPIC and filled with so many awesome memories! I hear you about the White Clouds... that trip that you took (and shared) was awesome brother! The trip to the White Clouds and through Chamberlain Basin and Castle Peak is probably a tie for me as far as all-time favorites go. As far as getting out... I'm off tomorrow for a week (or so) long backpacking trip :) Cheers!

Whooo Hooo!!! Double header weekend!!! Two videos from Danny S. Life is good!!! We have no idea where you get the strength or energy to film those morning "wake up" shots!!! 😊 Those take commitment for sure!!! I heard that waterfall in the background again. I remembered that from the overview video. Wow, having your morning coffee, overlooking the lake while the sun is rising, not a bad way to start the day!!! Hehehehe, an egg and hash brown stew!!! It might not be as intended, but it looked pretty good!!! When you were going over the route for the day, I could not help but wonder how many mountain lakes are there! It seems like you can't throw a rock without hitting one! What a gorgeous area!!! There had to be 30+ just in the screen shot. WOW!!! Once again, love the alpine lakes. They could all be named "mirror" lake, because the reflections on the water are so amazing!!! Do they look that incredible in real life??? It doesn't seem like you need to travel far for fresh water either. Maybe it is just how the video is edited, but it seems there is either a lake or a river/ stream always nearby. Love that shot overlooking the lake at the 5:17 mark. It would probably take me a month to walk that trail because I would be stopping all the time to stare at the beauty. I am guessing all those bodies of water contained fish, so in the event of an emergency and you lost your packs, you could fish for dinner. Whoa, there was a lot of snow on the way to the Cramer divide. That looked pretty formidable!!! Josh looked tiny, off in the distance. That is a lot of snow for July!!! Oh, that must have been a tough ascent in all that snow!!! Lesser men would have turned around 😊. That was some great footage from Josh once he reached the top. You looked so tiny in the background. Really makes you think how small we humans are compared to nature. Odd question, could you have made that ascent without sunglasses? I think I would have been blind. My guess is the sunglasses were every bit as important as the rest of your gear. Had I been on that path, I would have post "cratered". They would still be digging me out!!! Another odd question. Would you be able to setup camp anywhere on your trip OR do you need to stay at a campsite? OMG, the color of the water at the 8:20 mark is amazing! What an incredible view!!! You guys did a great job crossing those rivers and waterfalls. One slip and things could turn badly in a hurry! The picture quality and sound quality of your GoPro is REALLY awesome!!! Ahhh, that mosquito swarm looked pretty intense. They looked big enough to carry you away. The name Toxaway seems like an odd name for a Lake. Any ideas of its origin? I can see where Sand Mountain gets its name. 😊 The views were stunning. That summit of Sand Mountain was amazing. I cannot believe you were able to do that with your blisters, but as you mentioned, the regret would have been tough to deal with!!! A year from now, you will only remember the beauty, the pain will be long gone. Wow, that ridge had some jagged rocks for sure! The views were amazing!!! You were actually looking down at the top of a tree!!! How many people can say that!!! Great view of Toxaway Lake!!! We were stunned that you could identify the peaks you summited on your White Clouds trip!!! That was amazing!!! I would never be able to do that. Love the shot of Toxaway Lake, the mountains in the background and those flowers on the side. Yellow, purple, and red, those were very pretty. Gosh, those mosquitos looked huge! They looked like baby pterodactyls!!! I hope you had mosquito netting on your tents!!! If anyone can rock the "lunch lady Susan" look, you can!!! Have you ever tried the Trace Minerals - Power Pak electrolytes? They come in 30 packs. I think they would be hiker friendly, since they do not take up much space, are light, and have a lot of vitamins, minerals, and of course electrolytes. We get ours at Amazon. They are about $15 a box. They might not be as good as the ones you use, but I thought I would mention them anyway. Can't wait to see Alice Lake and hopefully catch a glimpse of Bob getting back to the trail head!!!

Double header is right my friend! To be honest I just got over my second batch of Covid-19, and it provided ample time to edit some videos! Aha the good ol' wake up shots! I have fun with those! Yeah the waterfall! I think I may have led you astray because I remember you commenting on this on the full trip video. The waterfall is the big one you can see as we enter into Middle Cramer Lake. Across the lake you can see a waterfall that feeds the lake, and that's the one! It goes right from Upper Cramer to Middle, and we camped probably 200' from it! I was going to film it but a group of backpackers came in and camped next to it so I was unable to get a shot of the falls. The stew.. was not the best 😂 I'm not a huge fan of runny eggs! There are literally lakes, streams, and creek crossings everywhere you turn! Especially with the snow melting, you honestly could probably throw a rock and hit some water. Mirror Lake is a good name! They absolutely look that incredible in real life. I hope you get the chance to hike into one someday to see it for yourself! They may look even more incredible :) That's a yes on the fish! Most have trout swimming around in them. Fishing is something I would really like to start doing more on these trips. Yeah that was definitely the most snow we encountered on the entire trip! The pass was huge! Haha we are not lesser men 😂 Sunglasses are a must. I absolutely think quality sunglasses are overlooked, and are a huge aid when it comes to the longevity of your eyesight. I would probably have cataracts from that snowy pass had I not been wearing any! Also, I just got my first pair of prescription glasses so you will probably start seeing those in videos. Post Cratered 😂 No odd questions here! We can typically stay anywhere in the wilderness as long as it's not on a trail and a good distance away from water sources. I want to say it's 100 feet. The GoPro honestly doesn't do too bad. I'm pretty impressed by it! The Mosquitos were so bad in that spot! That was Edith Lake that we stopped at and were going to have lunch, but they swarmed us and so we kept walking on the trail and that's where I filmed that shot of the mosquito cloud. It was nasty nasty nasty. I'm not quite sure where the name Toxaway originates from. It's definitely an interesting name! Sand Mountain was probably my highlight of the trip! I was pretty pumped to be able to see the whole White Clouds trip clear as day! The ridge was definitely jagged, but was super pretty up top. There were literal 360 degree views and I got to look down over a tree! Yeah the shot going down into Toxaway with all of the flowers was breathtaking! 🍻Cheers. The mosquitos were still really bad in that spot! But.. if you're bundled up and have mosquito netting then it makes it tolerable! Lunch Lady Susan! I think she made another appearance a couple of weeks ago in my last trip! I have not heard of Trace Minerals but I'm always looking for new things to try! I am big on electrolytes and staying up with those while on the trail. I think it is something a lot of people could benefit from. I typically drink the Liquid IV and have recently been turned onto the brand LMNT! LMNT has 1,000 mg of sodium per pouch, and it has potassium/magnesium in there too. You can definitely taste the salt but it works. I am going to look up Trace Minerals so thanks for the suggestion! Alice Lake is coming soon! And maybe Bob :) Thanks so much for the support and for the comments this week! Cheers! Danny

@@DannyJSchaefer Oh wow, sucks that you got sick again, that is not fun. First the blisters, then COVID, yikes!!! Hope you are feeling better! Gotcha on the waterfall. I am sure I screwed that up! Oh, that would be cool to see you guys do some fishing. I think I recall a video or two of Josh drowning a worm. I remember another video when you and one of your buddies got a grouse and ate that for dinner. Nature, the world's largest supermarket! I cannot wait to get out there and see my first alpine lake! Glad to hear they are even better in person!!! Ahh, good to know about the sunglasses. I have a pair in my car and in a kit or two. I just found another pair over the weekend. I need to go through all my kits again and figure out where all my stuff is. :) Understood on the guidelines for setting up a camping spot. I saw a few places I thought would be cool to set up camp. The views from Sand Mountain were amazing for sure!!!! The White clouds looked like they were 50 miles away. It is so hard for me to judge the distances on things like that, but you were not kidding when you said you had views for miles!!! Oh, those LMNT packs sound good. The sodium, potassium and magnesium are great for cramps. It has been a while since I checked the back of the Trace Minerals. I will need to double check to make sure I am getting everything I need. It does not hurt to reevaluate from time to time. Looking forward to the Alice Lake video! We will keep our eyes peeled for any Bob sightings! Stay safe and be well!!!
